Is it ok to find a fictional character sexy/attractive?

Ok so by fictional I mean cartoon, video-game, book etc.

Anyway for a while now my friends have all stated that they think people who find cartoons attractive wrong. Yet all individually say they would find a person who looked like sed characters sexy.

This confuses me, basically they are being hypocrites yet when I say this they tell me they aren't "Because they aren't talking about the cartoon".

I realise many people do find fictional characters sexy (For example: many dubious websites) but I want to know what other people think about any moral implications it may have. Pesonally I see nothing wrong with it, but perhaps I am a minority.

P.S. I don't mean fictional characers like in movies, as it can be argued you simply find the actor/actress attractive instead.

I don't see any issue with it, as long as you don't get completely obsessed with it. They are drawn/rendered to be attractive to people, so why not feel that way?

Provided you don't obsess over this fact then I think you are allowed to admit to have a mild schoolboy/girl crush on a character that doesn't actually exist. Just make sure to remember that they don't exist. I don't think there's anything wrong with finding someone attractive if they were secifically designed to be so.

Part of any writer's job is to evoke an emotional response. If you didn't feel anything, be it pity, anger, hatred, love, even sexual attraction, they failed at their job. It is part of that whole imagination and immersion thing that fiction writing of any kind is supposed to evoke.

The only time it becomes wrong is when you start celebrating that character's birthday, have sex with a pillow that has their picture on the case, and start calling that character your "wife" in a completely serious manner.

Now of course, if you're making fun of said person that's perfectly OK. Until they try to invite you over for a threesome, then you need to get them some mental help >_>

As long as it's not one of The Simpsons or anything from Futurama, I see nothing inherently wrong with it. If the character is portrayed well enough to create an impression of the kind of person you find sexy, attractive, adorable or whatever, then it's merely a sign that the creator of that character has doen a good job.

Really does it matter if you marry a pillow that looks like a cartoon character. No not really, you might be a bit strange, but everyone is strange in there owe right.

Theres a reason theres cartoon porn, theres a reason they made that pillow case that looks like that girl from some anime in japan.
