I am 13 years old. I'm sick of all the dull fps and crappy games developers are making for consoles. Not to mention the arrogant community that consists of immature kids (Not all of the community just most people I run into online). I?m thinking of saving up to by the components to build a high-end gaming pc that will last me about 2-3 years of playing the latest games at playable frame rates. Is it possible that I would have enough money to get my hands on the components? If I saved up all my money I earn about £1300 in 1 year. Thank you guys in return.

You want to escape arrogance by joining the PC community?

lulz

But more seriously, yeah it should be possible. It would just take a long-ass time. You could always do odd-jobs for people for quick cash.

beyond me being sceptical of earning £120 in a month, yes, don't buy anything for 5 months and buy a £600 Gaming PC.

I've personally never done it, but if you're stringent about where you buy and buy parts cheap you could do it.

Go for it.

Building your own PC is hard work if you don't know what your doing. From personal experience I made my own with the help of my Dad, which I bought all the parts for around 10 Grand(Including 1,000 on Anti-Virus's, and other acsessories).

So yes it is possible, though getting the money will be quite a pinch if you don't have a well paying income "Job".

Try blogging, I've made most of my money by doing that, (message for help if you need it).

AMD is your friend when it comes to building PC's on a budget. Performance comes cheap with AMD along with chipsets that are usually cheap to manufacture, meaning cheaper motherboards and also damn good overclocking potential.

Also buying AMD will allow you to take advantage of CrossfireX, meaning you can run 2-4 similar cards at once. Take a good look at the ATI Radeon 6xxx series, though the Nvidia GTX 460 also comes recommended.

Erm, no offense mate, but the only reason you should get a gaming PC is for the games, not the community.

Trust me, the community sucks.

Shall it be a 6850 or a 6870? Also make sure your PSU can handle it.

Depends on your allowance.

You may want to aim for a cheaper PC, or a Laptop.

Most likely a 6850 but if I can find a 6870 thats only like £30 more then the 6850 I might buy a pair of them. Also no laptops as I wont be able to upgrade my system at a later date.

I can't get money to build a PC and I'm 17. I wish you luck, hopefully you can do it. My problem is just laziness mostly so if you don't have that issue you could do it.

If you're not too sure about building it yourself get someone like this place to do it:
http://www.pcspecialist.co.uk/

If you just want the parts I recommend:
http://www.aria.co.uk/

They're both British websites so delivery shouldn't be a problem for you. Though you'll need someone 18+ to lend their credit/debit card and accept delivery.

I would suggest spending no more than £700 for that you can get a very respectable build, a little more if you want a nice monitor. The only software you should pay for should be windows, unless you're a technical whiz and want to try linux.

Do not pay for anti-viruses or firewalls, and don't let anyone convince you you need to. The paid anti-virus are no better than many of the free ones. I recommend Avast or AVG.

I built a gaming rig a good few years ago so this comes from alot of experience, lets just say for everything that it came to it was alot of money to keep upto date, 9 out of 10 games which are on xbox will end up coming out on PC anyway leaving you with not much to pick from.

My advise, Dont bother wasting your money , you pay out that much it will be dated within a few months by newer CPU's and GPU that come out and it can be alot of hassle when something screws up in your system and you gotta get it replaced.

If i were you put that money away or get into a hobbie like motorsports or somthing, quading, offroading etc. Save up money to get a half decent car when your old enough to drive.

Putting £1300 into a machine to go out of date and last for a couple of years clearly isnt worth the bother, Ive still got my gaming rig but its just sitting there collecting dust.

You'll need a CrossFire Bridge for each. If you're doing 2-way Crossfire then you'll need two.
