Is it possible for a 13 year old gamer to save up enough to buy the parts to build a gaming pc

Most likely a 6850 but if I can find a 6870 thats only like £30 more then the 6850 I might buy a pair of them. Also no laptops as I wont be able to upgrade my system at a later date.

You'll need a CrossFire Bridge for each. If you're doing 2-way Crossfire then you'll need two.

dont go for a really expensive graphics card, its better to go mid range for that and plan on upgrading it a few years later, a mobo and slightly more expensive cpu will last much longer then an expensive graphics card will

but yeah, with 1300 you would have plenty of cash to make a really nice gaming pc

it might be best having a local pc shop build you your first comp since if you dont know what your doing it can be hard and it will also give you a nice base to work with and upgrade and the more you do that the more you will learn about the hardware, ram and cards are easy to put in, the motherboard and cpu.... still easy but much more nervewracking

Color me curious since to my knowledge, only those who write about fashion gets that kind of money.
And not to sound offensive but you don't strike me as that type of person.
So.. how?

I've been blogging for a few years on a variety of subjects ranging from Music and the Arts to Video Games and reviews. I've made tons of blogs which I sell for about 50-100$. Of course I have my own blog that I make money from aswell, mostly from traffic and ad revenue.

Google it sometime, people can make lots of money doing this.

Is it possible that I would have enough money to get my hands on the components? If I saved up all my money I earn about £1300 in 1 year.

I built my own gaming PC a year ago for around £900.

I am in my second year at a technology uni so there are a load of self built computers around, in my halls flat both this year and last year my computer was the best, even after a few people upgraded their own.

So my answer to you is how long would it take to save up around £900.

Yes, it's quite possible, if you buy individual parts for less than $60 (no clue how that converts to other currencies... $60 is about the price of a new game) you could do it.

Ebay, most likely. I just asked a friend and he said if you're only going 2-way you should only need one Bridge, though I can't say for sure since I've never tried it.

keeping storage in stock, washing etc.. Moved up the ranks as a fullfledged salesman of the age of 13..

i had a nack for sellling, and often sold for more money than everyone else..
So in return my manager gave me the benefit of having a salary of 5% of everything i sold..
At best i made as much as close to 100 dollars an hour..

So my advice is, get a job! You'll have that pc in no time..

Not that easy in england. you wont be able to get a job thats not a paper round untill you look 16 :/

The whole £1300? I dont have any expenses Im only 13 :S. Edit:Mabye £30-£50 off that becuase of family birth days.

Hm. Not impossible really, can get something decent relativley cheap nowadays.

My current rig consists of:

ASUS M4A79XTD EVO Motherboard
2x 2GB Corsair XMS3 1600MHZ RAM
AMD Phenom II x4 965 overclocked to 3.8ghz
Zalman CNPS10x Performa cooler
Artic Silver 5 Thermal paste
Sapphie HD 6870
OCS Stealth XStream II 600W PSU
NZXT M59 case
Windows 7 Home Premium 64bit (OEM)
2x 500gb WD Caviar Black HDD
1x 22" LG Monitor (not sure exactly, too lazy to check)
1x 19" AOC monitor (same)
Logitech G15 (2nd gen)
Logitech MX revolution

That cost around £750 for all of that. Although prices for stuff, mainly the 6870, have gone down a bit now, so could get it for around £700 I'd guess. Excluding the peripherals. Just bought Crysis 2 and it can run that on highest settings at 1920x1080 at around 40-50FPS. I'll probably be getting another 6870 (and a more powerful PSU to run it) soon though, since it's good, but not quite good neough to satisfy me.

Costs that you should take into consideration are the peripherals, a single decent monitor like the LG one I have is around an extra £150, you will probably need extra fans, thermal paste is often overlooked but most coolers come with some, if it's pre-applied you'll need isopropyl alchohol to remove it if yo uwant to put on your own, you'll need a CD/DVD drive, you'll also need a desk of some sort, and a comfortable chair. Before you buy anything, have a list of everything you want and the prices to make sire you can afford it all, and pass it onto somebody more experienced at computer building to make sure you don't forget anything.

Another thing to consider though, is that AMD is releasing Llano soon. Which means that if you go with one of their 45nm processors, your computer will be out of date very soon. So it may be worthwhile to wait for Llano.
