I watching my friend play Domination and he's trying to tell his teammates not to rush Point B and let them have it. They don't listen to him and tell him to shut the hell up and they take it. Then the enemy takes point A and C and they lost by 4 points. At the time, his team was at 192 to 156. The enemy team worked together and made sure they didn't let them recapture the point. All because they didn't listen...they lost. So..is it rare to see teamwork in Modern Warfare 2? Kinda...I do remember seeing this
and it reminded me that some people have counter air strike classes ready unlike other players.

I'd say its rare to see proper coordianated teamwork in any online game, not just modern warfare 2, where the team isn't a single clan.

You do have a point. I just used MW2 as an example seeing how its the mostly nuke boosting instead of capture the flag teamwork. Though I've worked together in Halo 3 and The Conduit with friends and random teammates.

It kind of is compared to other online games. (thats just what I think)

I do try my best to be the one helpful player that uses both UAV and counter UAV, plus having a anti air class for the harriers and chopper gunners. Most of the time it works out, but then there are times when I really wish I some team mates helping me.

rarely... but if you find a clan they probably work together, atleast most of the time.
Funny thing was...the other team weren't in a clan. At least it didn't look like it since they had different tags or none at all..and some of them looked like they just got the game. No prestige or anything. And low ranked. But you are right

It's completely stupid that Infinity Ward saw it as reasonable to disable party chat for most gametypes.

"Oh, it's increase teamwork!" No, no one works together in online play in any game unless they join together.

But CoD has always had the worst team players, ever. Lots of people only play Domination to get nukes and kills, anyway. It's hard to work with people who have different goals.

It depends. With a group of friends or a clan, then definitely. Otherwise, I'd say it's hard to get good, proper teamwork in ANY online game, let alone MW2.
For example, when playing competitively with my friends, we'd have a specific person designated for each job. In search and destroy, we always had the same guy plant, and we'd always have people designated to different locations based on the map we were playing.

Often when you do see someone trying to tell others to work as a team, it's some fruitcake with the tactical insight of a tangerine telling everyone to attack a point completely covered by snipers.

Me, I try to be helpful. My secondary is usually a Stinger and I often deploy UAVs.

I'd say that in the AA games, whether it be one of the 2's or 3.0, teamwork is mandatory. It's unfortunate that in more mainstream games players tend to ignore the advantages of team playing.

I haven't played much Modern Warfare 2, though I've played the older Call of Duty games more. But in my experience, Battlefield: Bad Company has a lot of teamwork, but teamwork really breaks down once you reach level 25. When you reach level 25, you end up playing on all-level-25 servers. Most of the people in these servers are assholes who zoomed to level 25 by using cheap tactics, camping, and never attacking objectives. I reached level 25 slowly, by working with my team a lot. So now, the game has gotten much worse, because people are no longer fighting as part of a team.

yes, there is such a thing as teamwork on mw2, although you usually need someone you know inreal life. my and another friend i dont know in real life kicked ass and got nukes. it depends on how well you communicate and how well everyone c ooperates with everyone else.

Yeah, it's even worse in Bad Company 2. I don't mean that there is even less teamwork in that game than in MW2, in both games it's fairly non-existent on random servers, but in BC2 teamwork makes a much bigger difference so the fact that everyone always just goes Rambo is an even bigger shame there. But what can ya do, people will be douchebags, even if they're on your team.

I like to try to but sometimes it's doesn't work out, many times I have seen a sniper on our team and planted a claymore on a door to stop somebody knifing him.

It's just immature people who want to be the glory hunter.

Modern Warfare 2 is basically the antithesis of a teamwork-based multiplayer game. Killstreaks make it so that one person utterly destroying the enemy team is far more useful than everyone else working together. After all, why work to capture objectives and assist your teammates when you can win the game by yourself by sitting in a corner and camping until you earn an AC-130 or a nuke?

Yes, people do occasionally work together, but that's usually in spite of the game, not because it's encouraged.

If i am playing with my friends i will work together and communicate with them but if i am playing with a bunch of randoms online then it is usually pointless to try and team up with them, despite the rare occasion.

Not to my experience, especially on headquarters, there have been many occasions where we work together quite well, flashbanging the hell out of the headquarters then storming it.

There is basically no teamwork on MW2 and hardly anybody follows the objective its just kill.

Other games like TF2 and Battlefield bad company: 2 have a lot of teamwork
