Ha, that video is epic! I've always seen team based games in Call of Duty just being 'less people shoot you on sight' rather than teamwork like flanking or providing cover and such. I mean don't get me wrong, years ago on COD4, me and my mates used to work together like doing sniper operations where'd one would snipe, I'd find targets and protect the sniper and my other mate would lay traps and cover us, but we'd watch our 'team-mates' still just running round popping enemies off.

Call of Duty team games are more of a way or showing off or out-playing your team mates as well as the enemy. If you truly want teamwork and tactics, Bad Company 2 is the benchmark.

That video was quite inspiring, testament to how good the game can be with teamwork. Shame I've never played a game of COD where people worked together on my team.

hell no, teamwork doesn't get rewarded in mw2 for shit, and 90% of the player base could care less about it obviously

so no, it hardly ever happens, and eventhen its a clan who is trying really hard to do it with lots of communication, otherwise no, not at all

thats why I rarely play MW2 now due to assholes and glory hunters who don't work with each other to WIN.

Modern Warfare 2 = Team work? Hardly, even with constant chatter, the only sensible word I could pick up = Fag.

Gears of War 2 however really promotes that. It's 5 versus 5 and there is no way a Rambo will survive and win a game of "Guardian". I am saying, Gears of War really promotes talking and actually asking for help and defending eachother. That's why it easily became one of my favourite TPS.

Don't get me wrong, it has the occassional idiots too, but they moved on to MW2. And I am glad for that.
I'll have to disagree because the only matches I get in are douchebags running around chainsawing and shotgunning.

Edit: Lol'd at someone saying people Bad Company 2 work together, most of them are the same MW2 douchebags that moved onto that game. Or just douchebags that like BF:BC more than the MW franchise.

You can't really expect teamwork in MW2. The players are given 100 points for killing someone but only 20 for helping kill someone. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that killing someone is the best way to level up.

Granted, the players have to want to play as a team, but that won't happen when solo playing is encouraged. At least in Bad Company 2 you get 40 points for an assist and spot (or 60 for critical assist and spot) compared to the 50 for a kill.

I remember good teamwork In Halo 3, and TF2 has classes designed simly to benefit the team in various ways, but In both the Modern Warfares, over all my play time I don't see teamwork but instead a series of opposing player ding their own seperate thing, and victory depends on the combined skill of a team, but when you actually see teamwork, mixed with the class system, anybody using It can own.

I find no one on my team ever seems to carry any tracking missles to take down UAV and Aircraft, so I usually cover that base with my secondary weapon. I neglect using the chat function, purley due to negative experience with people badmouthing my Britishness-ness.

99% of my time playing, no one is really working together. The 1% of the team was this one time where at least half the team got out their anti-killstreak classes and destroyed several choppers, waste of stingers/AT4s/whatever the hell they were using, but it was a good sight.

I'm more inclined on accusing of killstreaks being the main factor in players not cooperating as well as these videos on youtube where you have one player demonstrating how well he can get a nuke while maintaining a high k/d.

Me and my freinds once went back to back in TDM we won by looking out for each other and such.
Good teamwork is in infection games in halo and AvP where loosing a TM means gaining a enemy.
Or in BF:BC2 where working together is the way to win.
I only lone wolfed it once because all the squads were full. But I ended up blowing up the first 2 M-COM stations without any help, I am badass with the engineer (and I still had all my rockets).

Teamwork in MW2:

Jeff was just shot from the left, throw grenades and shoot.

Getting blown up with your teamates by one noobtube.

Yes it is rare. Most of the time I play, I get put in matches with cussing and camping retards, so I think its not worth talking to them. In one game I lost, I was sniping and a teammate a smg sat down in front of me. Because I could not see another sniper I was fighting, the other sniper killed us both and it was on the killcam.

There is little to no teamwork in MW2 from my experience, unless your playing with friends :/.
Ive had more luck with Bad company 2, because it kinda forces you to be a team.

Yes. Teamwork is NEVER done in any game by any of the players unless they are rewarded for it, an example being Bad Company or. to a lesser extent, MAG.

best advice would be to find people that you know that will play together...the other alternative would be to only add people to your friends that want to use teamwork. I play with about 8 other guys and we play pretty regularly...so when we get on we do pretty well.

I usually think you should join a clan or a group for teamwork play.

DOTA, where the name of the game should be teamwork, also have that problem.
