Yes, it is that bad...

At least in my opinion, I probably haven't played a more boring and less challenging game.

It is a pretty good game in my opinion, and it is the most successful one of its kind (MMORPGs).

It may be boring, but it's actually pretty fun!
...what?

I like WoW. I think it's the people who take WoW way too seriously that bring the entire experience down for everyone. It's also those people who seem to reach out and annoy the fuck out of everyone who either hasn't played WoW or doesn't like to play WoW.

Where are the other calm, casual WoW fans? I mean really, does shelling out money every month really make people decided "ok, since i'm paying for this I might as well learn EVERYTHING POSSIBLE about the game and ANNOY MY FRIENDS UNTIL I'VE TURNED THEM INTO CREATURES LIKE ME TOO!"

That scared the shit outta me. I have to share oxygen with those people?! Damn. I love the way the other people, who are around 11 keep calling him 'Kid' though XD.
Did that little kid just get killed by the first mob in the dungeon or something? Well, that's what you get for mage-tanking, if that was the case...:p All that shouting and crying, you think he could have finished about 10 corpse runs in that time.

I've noticed that tons of people diss WoW and games that are played a lot like that, and it's really offensive to the rest of the folk who DO play it. I mean, I hated on WoW until I played it, then it seemed to me like a good game, asides from the fact that blizzard is making us cough up serious cash to play.

Another one that gets dissed in general are the table-top RPG's like DnD. It may be boring, but it's actually pretty fun!
I did play WoW. I played the ten-hour trial, decided it was dull, then played max-level content on one my friend's accounts, and decided it was just as dull but with bigger numbers.
However, table-top roleplaying is an amazing experience in my opinion. I've never met a single person who played a full, well-master'd campaign and didn't have fun. D&D is not exactly my cup of tea, though: I prefer Fallout or Vampire.

I don't diss WoW (although I don't understand the hype around it) but I do generally diss JRPGs now. Reason being, as someone who used to be a major fan of them, I've come to realise almost all JRPGs are just rehashes of older titles with no graphics; neglecting to amend the flaws of previous games i.e. why do we still have the same kind of stories, characters and turn based battle systems?

I get angry at fans of them partially because they're better off buying older RPGs for less money, and I see their ignorance (for a lack of a more polite word) as being a major factor to game companies making a cheap and easy buck at the game community's expense.

MMORPGs are going down the same route. I liked FFonline as that was pretty deep, and forced you to make friends and parties. But all others appear to be the same thing.

EDIT:

Listening to those youtube vids, how can you be sure it isn't just someone just making those vids up? Unless someone in the WoW community knows this really happens?

Secondly, if you think those vids are bad, Football hooligans (or 'soccer' fans, for those who don't know what real football is) are just as bad yet it's considered more acceptable for the same kind of behaviour. What does that mean?

I dislike WoW because it is boring to me. It feels like a number-crunching game, and I don't like number-crunching games. If I want fun with numbers, I can prgrm vdgms.

If I want a roleplaying experience, I play D&D. (Actually, I DM, but whatever.) Very few numbers flying around (at least, when I'm DMing), and way more freedom (especially on my part) than any RPG you can play on a computer.

WoW? Good. DnD? Good.

Is that where we're going?

I'm going to say that people who hate WoW always massively over-egg it, haven't tried it properly, and just hate MMOs in general.

You stopped playing them before 2002, I see.

If your going to hate a game, try it first and then give a valid reason for hating it. Don't just say you hate it because you can. Try it. You may find out that the game you think sucks is actually very fun. Or you may find a valid reason for hating it. There is nothing wrong with hating a game. Just give a good reason. Maybe it just isn't your thing or maybe you didn't like the story. It's okay to criticize a game. As long as you give it a chance.

Did anyone else imagine that kid to be about 28 and living in his parents basement? ...It just seemed right to...

I didn't like WoW before I ever played it. Then I played it and liked it even less. The games just bore the hell out of me, I even had a friend guiding me to where all the "fun" stuff was. I still just can't get into it. Also, monthly fees.

While WoW isn't great, there's little else in the MMO market nearly as polished. I think the majority of WoW bashers are those who have come out of the game and gone cold turkey, and one way of them coping with not playing WoW is to keep reminding themselves of the negatives.
