Is it weird/creepy for a 19 year to date a 17 year old?

Is it unusual though?
Unusual in that most 19 yr olds aren't dating 17 yr olds? Don't know where you'd find stats for that.

But then, it's rare to be left-handed or a red-head, and I see no reason to worry about left-handed red-heads.

Just another one adding to the pile of "yeah it's fine!". Just depends on the maturity gap I guess?

People who find it creepy/weird are weirder than this :^)

Seriously, 2 year gap is nothing and it will matter even less as time goes onward. Hell, it even falls under that '1/2 of your age + 7' rule(that's a thing, isn't it?).

AOC was introduced to prevent abuse, not to stop highschoolers from dating.

When I was around that age I found that many (the majority) girls had boyfriends in their early 20's, so, to me, this seems like a non issue. But then again, your culture may be different on this "issue".

Depends on where you live, ect.

Additionally, it depends a lot more on circumstances than anything else, and who the two people are, who their friend groups are, their maturity, and which perspective you're looking at it from, as well as the genders... Shits fucked yo.

Basically though, its fine. And if its not, one of the parties can say that. If both think its fine, its fine. Some people might feel weird about it being someone who's in Uni dating someone who's in Highschool, but since they're just into Uni it can instead come off as kind of cool to have someone independent with their license to run around and take you places and all that sort of stuff. If the girl is younger, its sometimes also seen as good to date older guys because of mental maturity difference, though that does greatly depend on the people you're talking about.

As a general thing, its not weird. Some people will feel uncomfortable about it, but some people will feel uncomfortable about anything. Its not illegal, and it abides by the 1/2 age + 7 rule, so socially its fine.

If the 19 year old is in college and the 17 year old in high school, I can see that raising a few eyebrows where I live.

Knowing someone before you became a romantic item is a healthy first step imo. You don't have to be strangers with the person you're dating. Not knocking blind dates for others but I could never get the hang of dating someone I didn't know before the date as a friend. I don't think that makes it creepy in any way. Boys and girls grow up all the time to end up dating in adult life in smaller towns, I can think of at least three couples back in my hometown who have that story.

If its illegal where you live best not bang for a year otherwise the lad could end up in jail but morally theres no problem to me. The problem with laws is they have to be general so you get weird little specific cases.

Then definitely 100% fine. That's just a normal relationship taking shape, which I don't think anyone has any problems with.

And then you have where I live where there are so many specific laws to try and deal with that...
Age of consent is 16, but if you're 15/16/17, you can legally get away with having sex with another 15/16/17 year old. Once you turn 18, its 16 and up, except in cases where you have power over the person [I.E: Are their tutor or guardian or something along those lines {Teachers simply aren't allowed sex with students at all IIRC}], in which case its 18 and up that's legal, and a handful of other crazy laws that we spent a week learning in health class. No-one really cares though, people tend to prefer using their own judgement even on illegal pairings, and only report it if they think something creepy is going on. Whole thing is bloody complicated though. I think half of it is case law, so its probably come up in court at some point, but fuck... who has time for that hahaha >.>

Not at all. The age difference is negligible.

Then again my dad was 23 when he started dating my 17 year old mum so that may be why it's not a huge deal to me.
