Is it weird to fancy a game character?

I hold an odd love in my heart for Viconia DeVir [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitlenhv310a8odku?from=Main.BaldursGate], and all she is in the game is a 16 bit sprite and a portrait.

Plus a sexy voice o_O

Her character and writing are superb, and at 13 I was powerless to fend off her masochistic charm. One of the first characters in a video game I really cared about. I actually cried at her epilogue :(

Since playing Assassin's Creed I find Ezio Auditore rather hot (yes I am a girl). My friends find this weird but I'm not the only girl who finds him yummy.

Does anyone else have any crushes on game characters?
Holy shit for a second I thought you were a mate of mine. She's obsessed with Assassin's Creed and thinks Ezio is fit and (I went on your profile to see if you were her) she's from Devon and she's a student. But never mind, she's 20. That would've been weeeeeiird

OT: It's not weird. At least I hope it's not cos when I was younger I fancied Rikku from FFX/X-2. My mates all think I'm insane for finding Jack from Mass Effect 2 very attractive (apart from the shaved head) but, then again, I think Brody Dalle from The Distillers is gorgeous (google her if you don't know her). I just love girls with tattoos... lots of tattoos

Yes, yes it is. It's like falling in love with an in animate object like a chair
Yeah, a chair that looks like a member of the opposite sex and has a voice, personality and a body, yeah, just like that...

OT...I rather liked Rikku from FFX when I played it, she's a slut in X-2 though, boooo!

It's not odd. People all over the world feel the hots for fictional characters. I'll admit that I've got a soft spot (or hard spot, ba-dum-tish) for Ivy Valentine.

And yeah, as a straight guy, I'd go for Ezio any day.
I talked with my friend about and he said that the Soul Calibur team must have got a ton of letters regarding Ivy not having her.... well... Its basically leather floss really, outfit as the main outift in SC3 and thats why she got it back in SC4.

OT: I have a few. I mean, I've thought it about when my thoughts wonder, if they were real of course, but nothing ever serious. But I do find some girls hot but for different reasons.

Girls like Ivy, Dizzy of Guilt Gears, Hinomoto Fujiko (Evil Rose) of Rumble Roses, Rachel of Ninja Gaiden, and any of the DOA Girls all have their physical attractiveness for obvious reasons.

But I usually find girls iwth personalities in games better. Not to say the girls above dont have them, but the ones I'm talking about are designed to be sexual objects or eye candy. Girls like Juno of Force Unleashed, Fuuka Yamagishi Persona 3 Fes, and even girls like Talim/Cassandra/Hilde/Xiangua/Amy of Soul Calibur fame. It only gets weird if you cant distinguish reality.

For example, it got weird for me when I started playing Persona 3 Fes while i was between girlfriends and I fell in love with Chihiro Fushimi because she reminded me of my last girlfriend at the time (who passed away) and I played the game, keeping save points on parts where you interacted with her for social links and not move the story forward. BUt I've gotten past that and have a new Gf.

(its eerie, at least to me)

So yeah, just keep it in check and dont hold IRL girls to the standard to VG girls.

No no, *swoon* Tifa Lockheart. God damn writers just had to make her the ideal woman. Kind, strong and sexy as a choclate strawberry. (cookie for reference obviously).
Role Models.

I think that saying someone is hot/acttrative/etc is fine. JUst don't go and try to marry it, like that asian and Love Plus was it?
Damn skippy.

Sorry if this sounds demeaning but don't be afraid to quote when you respond to someone. They might not know you responded otherwise. Oh and welcome to the escapist, please enjoy your stay and never say first in a post. That I can't stress enough. Also never post first in one of yahtzee's videos, if you watch them that is, even if its just a normal comment, because for some reason the first few people to comment always get reported, dunno why.

Not strange in the slightest. Lightning from FFXIII was the only reason why I played for as long as I did, after all.

I suppose it depends which character you like. Some characters, I'm looking at you, Final Fantasy, are obviously designed to be appealing to the other sex. If you fancy the guy from Manhunt then you're probably a little weird. That being said, I wouldn't have thought that Ezio was designed to appeal to women - I think he's probably designed to appeal, in a heterosexual way, to men.

I think its because they post so quickly they could not have possibly watched the video.

lara croft is hot, but only because she looks like angelina jolie / jolie looks like her. croft isn't the hot person, jolie is it.

No you are never the only one of anything ever usually. There is lots of fan faction that proves you are not the only one that finds video game characters hot. Rule 34 heavily effects this.
