Is it weird to fancy a game character?

The idea of fantasizing/fancying an idealized form of a person is a common one indeed. I know that I've done it, I had a crush on Chun-Li when I was about 8 or 9. I find many game women attractive, but right now I wouldn't say that I'm crushing on any of them.

I like these characters mostly for their personalities (their looks aren't that bad either). I've met chicks IRL who exhibit some personality traits that these VG characters do and I tried to date them, so I think of having an attraction to a videogame character as figuring out what you find desirable in a person.
I also do female runs of RPGs, but for them I create a specific personality for the PC and just role-play it and if that means a "romance" with a guy in the game, then so be it (not gay).

No, they are characters based off ourselves. Otherwise we could not truly empathize with them and enjoy their journey. They're made to be attractive, and while they're not real, you're supposed to be able to feel what their feeling, and part of that can be becoming attracted to their character. I mean, I think Ivy from DOA is totally hot, even if she is kind of evil.CharrHawk164 said:

I tend to be when I think their voice actresses are attractive. Due to this I find Elana Fisher quite alluring.
Ahem...when game,movie,anime,comic,ect makers create a character they do a few things give them a personality and...make them hot...anime girls often leave guys shifting awkwardly in there seats because in (see list above) the characters are usually "perfect" perfect body,skin'hair ect...also etzio is Italian and the ladys love italians.
