Well, I have a gaming PC AND a PS3 AND a PSP - and some other older consoles.Rastrelly said:Just buy a good PC and don't care for those consoles. PC is obviously the best gaming platform just due to modding, comfort and adequate games.
That's probably the biggest problem I've had with the ps3: it gets really horrible 3rd party support.Cameron Hyatt said:I have all three systems this gen. I got a PS3 for the exclusives only. Love the exclusives. Just wish there were more of them. The multiplatform games run better on Xbox and the online is better. Party chat and Private chats while in game aren't on PS3 plus Background downloading isn't any good.In my opinion so if I were in your shoes, I'd just trade your old xbox for a new Slim.
That is ONLY reason I stick to my guns on the 360. It kind of seems like Sony won't upgrade their controllers because of some kind of nostalgia bid.Metaphysic said:I based mine on the controller. I've always hated the PS controllers, but the xbox and 360 controllers made sense to me.
The original xbox controller is certainly a bit awkward, but I always found the analog sticks to be in much better places than the Playstation designs. What's this scrapped boomerang design?Vandenberg1 said:For me the XBOX was to clunky of a controller... Ps3 is just plain simple and easy. Hah, indeed! I just hate the analog sticks and triggers on the PS controllers. Always have.Nasrin said:That is ONLY reason I stick to my guns on the 360. It kind of seems like Sony won't upgrade their controllers because of some kind of nostalgia bid.

hmmm, tough question, i had this issue a little while ago, my old xbox 360 was getting up there in years, (had it not long after lunch) and while it was getting old my poor 20gb hard drive (the biggest they had at the time) was down to only half a gb left of space. so i went and bought a new elite model since the price was Lowery than it was years ago, (got it just before the slims were out damn!) and transferred all my memory over to the new hard drive, now a year later i have 80 gb left off a 120 gb hard drive. if you've had an xbox for as long as i have you would have a considerable library of games and 4 gb really wouldn't be enough for your purposes and your bothers and you'd have to upgrade eventually, so i really don't know. you could stay with 360 and upgrade it;s what i did and worked out well, or you could try something different. jut hoping that by telling how i handled the situation it might help you out.Karma168 said:Note: this is not a stupid xbox 360/PS3 fanboy argument so please don't bring that crap here.
Since my xbox is getting on a bit (i've basically had it since they came out) and the ridiculously loud fan is driving me nuts i'm thinking of trading it in and buying a replacement. First look was going to the new 250GB slim xbox (more storage and a lot quieter)
Buut since my brother already has a 4GB slim i could easily just play my Xbox games on his. And since the price for a PS3 is comparable it is a decent alternative.
Basically it comes down to the exclusives available on the PS3 and multiplayer; are the exclusives decent enough games? And how does the online system/community compare with Xbox live?
That thing's so weird looking! But cool.Vandenberg1 said:Here..it looked cool, in a weird way...Metaphysic said:The original xbox controller is certainly a bit awkward, but I always found the analog sticks to be in much better places than the Playstation designs. Idk, I try playing monday night combat on xbox, and sniping made me think how much easier it be for me to do with the precision of a PS3 classic controller but to each their own
I would like to agree with everything in this post. Especially on White Knight Chronicles II. Unless you really, REALLY have to have the trophies from the first White Knight Chronicles, WCKII makes buying the first one a colossal waste of cash. Personally when I got it, WKC and WKCII went together so well, I honestly didn't feel like I'd been playing two separate games(might be because I never bought the first one in the first place), but rather that when I'd gotten to WKCII, I'd just begun playing the second half of the story, rather than starting up the sequel to the first game. It was then I knew I had fallen in love with that game.shrekfan246 said:I can't really speak for the multi-player too much because honestly I've never really been into competitive multi-player and most games don't seem to embrace the whole "co-op campaign" thing like Halo and Gears of War did.Karma168 said:Note: this is not a stupid xbox 360/PS3 fanboy argument so please don't bring that crap here.

But for single-player, the PS3 is an absolute beast.
LittleBigPlanet 1&2 (Which also has community maps that you can download, and the local co-op is a blast.)
inFamous 1&2
Metal Gear Solid 4 (Though admittedly the mileage you'll get out of that will depend entirely on if you have played the previous three games.)
Uncharted 1, 2, and soon to be 3
White Knight Chronicles (1 is a bit clunky, but 2 apparently reworked much of the slow combat and comes with a remastered version of 1, so you're essentially getting two huge RPGs in one.)
Disgaea 3&4
Killzone 2&3
Demon's Souls
The Ico&Shadow of the Colossus Collection
God of War 3 (And the HD re-releases of 1&2, Chains of Olympus, and Ghost of Sparta)
Ratchet&Clank Future Trilogy
The Sly Collection (HD re-releases of the Sly Cooper PS2 games)
Resistance 1, 2, & 3
The Atelier RPGs
Yakuza 3&4
And there are certainly more exclusives that I don't even know about.
I actually haven't gotten the second one yet, because I've had far too many unfinished games floating around without enough time to get through them, but I did rather enjoy the first while I was playing it. My major complaints with the first lie almost exclusively with the combat (in that it was rather slow and clunky, with a pretty abysmal actual interface). Would you say that the combat is satisfying/enjoyable in the second (and by extension, remake of the first)? If it is, I'll probably add it to the ever-growing list of games I still need to buy.ExiusXavarus said:Snipped for brevity.
