Snipped for brevity.

I would like to agree with everything in this post. Especially on White Knight Chronicles II. Unless you really, REALLY have to have the trophies from the first White Knight Chronicles, WCKII makes buying the first one a colossal waste of cash. Personally when I got it, WKC and WKCII went together so well, I honestly didn't feel like I'd been playing two separate games(might be because I never bought the first one in the first place), but rather that when I'd gotten to WKCII, I'd just begun playing the second half of the story, rather than starting up the sequel to the first game. It was then I knew I had fallen in love with that game.
I actually haven't gotten the second one yet, because I've had far too many unfinished games floating around without enough time to get through them, but I did rather enjoy the first while I was playing it. My major complaints with the first lie almost exclusively with the combat (in that it was rather slow and clunky, with a pretty abysmal actual interface). Would you say that the combat is satisfying/enjoyable in the second (and by extension, remake of the first)? If it is, I'll probably add it to the ever-growing list of games I still need to buy.
Oh yes. They have made many, many changes. A ton that are very, very good changes. And the best part is that all these changes that they made for WKCII, are applied to the original WKC as well, so it doesn't feel like you're going from one game to the sequel. They merge together so well it feels like you're going from the first half of the story to the next, as if WKC and WKCII were the exact same game, going from disc one to disc two, instead of going from prequel to sequel. In fact, there are so many changes I can't list them all here without taking up a massive amount of the thread, so here I will provide you with a link that will inform you of all the changes they made.

http://whiteknightchronicles.neoseeker.com/wiki/From_WKC1_to_WKC2

And yes, like I said before, all of these changes apply to both WKC and WKCII, to make them merge together so well it feels as if they were the exact same game. I think they did a superb job with it, and even if you do have the original White Knight Chronicles: International Edition, I highly recommend trying out the new remastered WKC. Just keep in mind that the list of changes in that link isn't quite complete, but there are a great deal of changes listed there.

I based mine on the controller. I've always hated the PS controllers, but the xbox and 360 controllers made sense to me.
For me the XBOX was to clunky of a controller... Ps3 is just plain simple and easy. You may of been the only person to like that boomerang design they came up with but scrapped
The original xbox controller is certainly a bit awkward, but I always found the analog sticks to be in much better places than the Playstation designs. What's this scrapped boomerang design?

Hah, indeed! I just hate the analog sticks and triggers on the PS controllers. Always have.

Idk, I try playing monday night combat on xbox, and sniping made me think how much easier it be for me to do with the precision of a PS3 classic controller but to each their own
That thing's so weird looking! But cool.

Personally i prefer the games only one the ps3 over the ones only on xbox (im not gonna make jokes about halo here, plus its kinda pointless these days...)
Plus they are a hell of a lot less likely to break down, me and my friends own 7 ps3s and 9 xboxs between like 20 of us and not one ps3 has broken down, but 6 of the xboxs have.
But then i also like it cause i can play my large ps1 and 2 backlog ^^

If you already have access to an X360, then go for it. My stance is that whenever you can get access to a bigger library, do it. No point in limiting yourself to the X360 library when you can add PS3 games to the mix.

the thing is that both systems have good exclusives. The problem with the 360 is most of them are just fps games that want to be either halo cod whereas the ps3 exclusives have much more variety

I own both systems and the two are very close in quality. PS3 has free MP, but mics are much rarer in on-line play due to the expense of bluetooth over the much cheaper technology used by MS. Not such a bad thing when deathmatching, but can be a nuisance in co-op.

When it comes to exclusives, almost all of my favorite exclusives are on the PS3. These days, the 360 can really only rely on Halo, Fables, and possibly Gears (assuming they don't go multi-platform for the next game like Mass Effect did).

Uncharted -- while I didn't much care for the first game, the second one was a highly effective and fun B-movie adventure with lots of cool action, so long as you didn't think too long about the plot and the ethics of those involved.

LittleBigPlanet -- great little 2.5D platformer that has opened up level development to the masses, much like Doom did with the first person shooter in the 90s. A wonderfully charming game with loads of free content on-line, so long as you don't mind sifting through the crap to find the diamonds.

Infamous -- probably the best over-all super-hero sandbox game so far (although Crackdown and Prototype have their charms). The second game also utilizes free fan-made on-line content, which is incorporated into the regular game.

Ratchet & Clank -- a fun little cartoon mascot shooter with lots of imaginative weapons.

Sly Cooper -- fingers crossed. Another cartoon mascot game, but focused on stealth. First three games have been re-released in HD and those were quite fun and it from the makers of Infamous, so I expect part 4 will be of the same quality.

Other people swear by Killzone and Resistance, but I've yet to get past their demos.

And let's not forget the blu-ray player, which is the primary reason I picked it up.

So, yeah, I think it's worth it, but there's barely a dime's worth of difference between the PS3 and the 360. A few pros and cons for each system, but averaging out about the same.

Ive always been a strong advocate of games making a game console, so usually id tell people to find some of the more obscure games on the consoles they own, really good ones they might have looked over, and buy those, rather than getting a new console.

However, in this case, since youre getting a new console either way, buy what you want. Find some games you like, and get the thing that runs the most of them.

Note: this is not a stupid xbox 360/PS3 fanboy argument so please don't bring that crap here.

Since my xbox is getting on a bit (i've basically had it since they came out) and the ridiculously loud fan is driving me nuts i'm thinking of trading it in and buying a replacement. First look was going to the new 250GB slim xbox (more storage and a lot quieter)

Buut since my brother already has a 4GB slim i could easily just play my Xbox games on his. And since the price for a PS3 is comparable it is a decent alternative.

Basically it comes down to the exclusives available on the PS3 and multiplayer; are the exclusives decent enough games? And how does the online system/community compare with Xbox live?
As an owner of both, here are my two cents:

PS3 Pros

The PS3 can just do more than the 360. The video and music stores have a decent selection and PSN is great for buying PS Classics like FF7 an Crash Bandicoot.

Overall the PS3 seems to have better graphics than the 360, though that only seems to be true on exclusives.

Online works fine, no one really talks since no one really has a headset.

The Blu-Ray drive is great for movies and what not.

Easy to expand hard drive.

System exclusives are generally pretty well done and are loads of fun.

Down Sides:

Updates take hours. I have literally waited over 3 hours in order to install and update a brand new game (Resistance 3).

The PS3 controllers don't feel as sturdy as those on the 360.

Console can be noisy.

You're going to need an HDTV to see the fonts in most games. Seriously if you don't have an HDTV, you're better off sticking to the 360.

Other

Remember that if you jump consoles you won't have access to anything tied to your Xbox Live account. That means you'll have to re-buy and replay any games you have already bought for the 360 (I'm thinking downloadables here). If you don't care about that, then you should be good to make the jump.

Hope that helps!

I would recommend it. Great exclusives yes, but in my opinion the killer feature is its a blu ray player as well. And said blu ray player keeps getting updated through patches, meaning - although I can only dream of actually having one :( - if you ever got a 3D TV its also a 3D blu ray player!

Yes, without a doubt. The playsation 3 offers the best non-sport exclusives of any system (IMO) and since purchasing mine about a year ago It went from being my "Just for the exclusives system" to my main system...now my 360 sits in a corner gathering dust, waiting for Mass effect 3.
