Meh. I'm not far behind you in age and I still read comics, play games, build Gundam models and buy occasional action figures.

I'm not sure why your girlfriend would jump straight to having "childhood issues". I don't know you, obviously, but I'd imagine it's more just waxing nostalgic than having mental issues. Other than that, Lego sets are just fun to build.

Lego's are toys, yes, but the work that goes into them makes them no less relevant to a "normal adult" than a jigsaw puzzle. Build those bricks proudly!

No, It's not crazy or wrong to play with Lagos.
My thoughts is that, If it makes you happy and not harming anyone else and yourself, more power to you.
Honesty the whole "man's man" (the stereotypical leave all childish thing behind, etc) died out when equality hits the scene.

Tell her that Legos were originally created as tools to help engineers. The "children play with them" aspect came later. Tell her you're getting back to Lego roots. :)

Does a man get made fun of if he plays minecraft?

No? Then legos are no different.

Legos are fine for any age group. They promote creativity.

Legos are awesome. So are Knex, and those metalworking sets that I can't recall the name of.

Besides, you can save them for years and pass them to your children.
They're called Erector Sets and they're a great way to lose a Saturday.

OT: I'd sooner say your GF has childhood issues since there's nothing wrong with Legos and someone so quick to jump against it probably had issues with her childhood. Legos are great for getting the creative juices flowing, the only reason I don't use mine more is Minecraft really filled that spot.

Erector...damn it, too slow. Didn't enjoy them as much as legos though.

OT: I asked my wife to buy me some starwars lego sets for christmas. (I'm 29) She laughed and gave me shit, but meh. Legos are awesome. I remember having built an entire space train lego set...took up a good 15 square feet. Good times.

Lego is awesome! You can make anything out of it, it is like, imagination taking shape with the help of colourful bricks... So, no you don't have issues, you just have an immagination and a measure of creativity, and thus enjoy using a tool of sorts to explore it and have fun...

Lego for life!

Let me answer that question with another question, who wants to make sixty dollars?
Because with sixty dollars you could buy a game, like Minecraft!
Is it wrong to play Minecraft?

I don't see anything wrong with it. LEGO is and always will be fun to play with. If it's a sign of childhood issues to enjoy something you enjoyed as a child then the same could be said about almost anything you enjoyed in your youth. Nostalgia isn't a bad thing.

Legos can be used by all ages. They're a way to let creativity out. If you enjoy messing around with legos, then she should respect your decision.

As long as you don't go overboard with it (i.e. buying enough legos to make a full-scale replica of your house and all furnishings within), and you don't let the collecting/building interfere with your life, you don't have a problem.
Umm.. Whats wrong with that?? James May did it and it was fucking spectacular.

Legos kick ass. Nothing to worry about. When she finds out you're still breast feeding however that might be a problem.

It all depends on WHAT TYPE OF LEGOS.

First off, if it's the cheap sets... well that's just childish for an adult.

But if it's making a $10,000 dollar Venator Star Destroyer that takes up a 10th of a room well that's something else entirely.

Or you could do the mid ground and settle for making your own custom sets for 1000 - 2000 dollars.

Or finally, the low mid with Ultimate Collector Series sets like:
