As soon as I saw this thread title I knew you were going to be the same guy from gametrailers.

Wow, i recognised that this tread was made by you instantly diesel, i think i lurked to much on gametrailers :p

edit: ninja'd

But for on-topic, i liked metro 2033 but for me it's never going to be the best fps because of it's linear closed nature. more of an stalker/farcry/crysis/arma kind of guy, just because it gives you more options to use. then again i always like to be pleasantly suprised so i will play it with an open mind ;)

They failed on the first one, I hope they fail less on this one.
No they didn't. 2033 was fucking great.

OT: Let's hope it comes out before THQ dies and EA buys up the franchise to make a F2P multiplayer title out of it.
I dont like that prospect :( both parts, EA and F2P, it will make it even easyer for them to use the real-money-for-bullets model :p

I whould like to see te franchise expand but not like that.

I'm certainly looking forward to the title.

2033 was excellently atmospheric and I love the STALKER vibe/tie-in thing they've got going with the overall aesthetic. I need it for my Zone fix, since STALKER 2 was canceled.

The story was intriguing, though gameplay let it down in a lot of instances (the basic shooting mechanics need work and are hopefully improved in the sequel), but the atmosphere carried the game for me.

I thoroughly enjoyed Metro 2033, it's one of my most played through games, and I look forward to Last Light as well.

Okay, how much are they paying you to advertise their game and are they still taking applications for viral marketers?
Damn I need some cash too. I wonder how much they're paying and if they're only paying in dollars.

About the new Metro - it will be streamlines. Hopefully not too much. Hopefully they had fixed the broken stealth mechanics. Expect more action and less feel of epic adventure and fear.

Probably not.

I hear a lot of praise for the first one. But everything I've seen makes it look like a trimmed down S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I dunno. Might have another look later.

You know you can't tell atmosphere from a still screen shot right?

Well from all the E3 trailers I didn't even know Metro Last Light was supposed to be an FPS. So I learned something from this thread.

Thank you from enriching me with knowledge.

But still the thought of a game where the entire E3 Marketing gambit doesn't even give me the slightest clue of what type of game they're playing a trailer for just doesn't fill me with confidence.

Also. Hey another FPS set in Russia! As if we didn't have enough of those already.

Last Light would have to have radically different gameplay from 2033 to be good, let alone one of the best. 33 was a pain in the ass to play.

From what little I've seen of LL it will deliver once again on the absolutely amazing atmosphere... but atmosphere alone does not make great games... on its own.

and anyone who thinks me crazy for disliking 33 as a game, clearly has no taste in shooters.

Do some of you even play the games you complain about?

OT: probably not, should be pretty good though.
