"The white head and black hand actually symbolise interracial harmony. It is supposed to show that a person can be white and black, old and young at the same time"

I SEE! I get it know, I understand Microsoft's non-racist GENIUS!

There's that old saw about never ascribing to malice that which can be explained by incompetence. I think it fits here.

Well, i wouldn't blame Microsoft for racism, people tend to jump to conclusions in that kind of situation
but i DO blame Microsoft for being silly enough to make that mistake, which caused this to happen

Yes, because of this one photo the entire company is racist.
In fact, I heard that several of the CEOs are actually members of the KKK.
And it goes without saying that their marketing has always eluded to Aryan Nation membership.

Seriously people? Do these bloggers not have anything better to do?
Though I will admit some of their ideas of looking deep into it were quite amusing.
"It's symbolizing racial harmony."

Yeah, okay.

Understand something, we're on a racism witch hunt to try and justify the existance of the "minorities, especially blacks, are persecuted" mentality. I mean heck, for a while pretty much every single video game coming out had people attacking it for racism. This is at a time when we have a black guy as the leader of the free world.

Racism is a boogieman some people need to exist for purposes of self validation and justification. I mean all those "Thugs" out there can't justify themselves as misunderstood heroes if there isn't some massive conspiricy keeping them down so there is "no other way".

Given that this was even discovered leads me to believe that someone was trying to get attention. I mean honestly, when I look at ads like that one, like most people I do not sit there and go "hmmm, do the hands on that image match the face?". Truthfully I'd imagine the whole ad campaign to go by without anyone noticing unless someone (probably the person responsible) made a point of pointing it out. Given that this seemed to start in the "Blogosphere" rather than anything more official makes me think it's an attempt at
rabble rousing. Some guy probably figured it would be a way of helping to justify keeping the racism boogieman around (perhaps even thinking that it was neededm, since the boogieman was just too well hidden otherwise) while striking against the evil empire that is Microsoft at the same time.

The proper response to this whole thing is pretty much to go 'so?' and let it die. It doesn't deserve attention.

I'm less worried about them being racist and more worried about the fact that Bill Gates sold his soul to C'thulu in order to guarantee microsofts success. and that windows is a portal into our souls that the elder gods can use to reach us. and that arbgghgiyttgfugjg!!!!! ((gets dragged away by microsoft corporate demons))

This isn't really racist. Fact is, in Poland black people don't exist. In all my time in Poland I have never seen a black guy there that was not a tourist. So they photoshopped the black guy's head out, thinking "Why should a black guy be in an ad for a nation of almost solely white people?
