I like your nephew. He will probably do great in Computer Science. Like many said, at that age, everyone have their fantasy jobs, but he surely will find his own way, hopefully in the field of IT, talent like his shouldn't be wasted.

Also, sports would be a great hobby, lest he ends like fat old me (another stereotypical 20+ nerd).

Talk to his parents about getting him a pedometer, and setting a target on that (say 8000 steps per day). Kids often love a competitive aspect, even if it's just with themselves.

So he is a good programmer? Why would that be bad? If he is getting good at anything, you should support that, rather than trying to stop it.

Imagine you took away his programming skills. He would still be the nerd he is, only without any talents, not even programming.
