It was alright, I beat it last week.
The complaints about the game being easy are little silly when you step back and take a look at whats actually going on in the game. Whenever you fail at something, whether it be platforming or combat, Elika saves you with her magic. So you literally CANNOT FAIL. No matter how many times an enemy hits you in combat, no matter how many cliffs you jump off of, Elika will always save you at the last second and you'll have to try again. Really that is no different, in fact I would say its a lot better than, watching The Prince die and having to reload the level and start all over again. It's the same thing basically, just without a loading screen.
If you fail at any time during a platforming sequence, Elika grabs you and teleports you back to the last piece of solid ground you were standing on. And in some part of that game that can be quite a ways back. Some platforming sequences are dozens of actions long. If you get hit three times consecutively during combat and fail a quicktime event, Elika will use her magic to blast the enemy off of you. You get up, the enemy gets up and heals half of his missing health, so its like dieing and reloading to an earlier part of the fight, just without any loading time.
If you really liked the last generation of PoP games, you'll most likely enjoy this one. It's different, but I wouldn't call any of the changes a bad thing.
