O.k Idk if I am the only one but i have yet to meet another person like me. I really find beauty in the decrepit or like the dilapidated. Like Urban sprawl or an old abandon house. I'm not some pessimistic like goth guy or anything of the sort. I'm I really funny and happy guy for the most part. I also find beauty in the crazy or insane. The pictures of Hieronymus Bosch really interest me. Now dont get me wrong there is nothing more beautiful than a gorgeous girl or the moon and stars. And I have a completely normal gf and a normal life. but is this wierd? is any one else like this? and if so what would you call it?

So, you like old places because they make you feel sad, but sad is happy for deep people, so you're fine.

Just watch out for Angels...

Okay, I'll cut the Doctor Who references now.

You are not weird, things breaking down and returning to nature are amazing. In may I was on a dive trip in new york and drove through buffalo (from across the border) and loved seeing all the warehouses and old factory shells that had been abandoned for decades.

Think about the sites you've gone to to find these things you like. Obviously, a shitload of other people do too, and most likely some of them are the same as you.

Yeah thats the kind of stuff I love but is there actually like a word for the love of the decrepit?

...Well, same thing. If you did look it up you'd see the shitload of people that also like it.

well, I don't find urban sprawls particularly interesting, but abandoned houses are pretty cool.

I guess you're "weird," as in some of your tastes are unconventional. But do you really want to have completely cookie-cutter tastes?

Just further goes to show that beauty is indeed subjective.

No, of course there's nothing wrong with you.

OP, you're seriously depressed and need psychiatric attention sooner rather than later. Drugs will help.

You know the best part about having cookie-cutter taste? The cookies are always delicious. Life becomes less of a struggle, more of a pleasure. You don't endure disappointment after disappointment because what you're experiencing isn't quite different enough to be in line with who YOU are.

No way, old broken down shit is awesome. I went through an abandoned orphanage recently. Creepy as hell, like a real life Shalebridge Cradle, and most definitely unsafe but it was an exciting experience for sure.

A hipster photography student?

There are Facebook, Livejournal, Tumblr etc. groups which focus on beauty found in the decaying and old. You're not weird. You're actually just following a trend which keeps rearing its (literally) ugly head.

Don't worry about being "normal". "Normal" is overrated. Besides, it's your own opinion of what's beautiful and interesting. Even if you tried, you couldn't change it. Just accept it and be happy that you're unique.

Don't you understand, it's precisely because they're NOT normal that they're unhappy! And all you're doing is encouraging them to STAY UNHAPPY! How can you be so cruel?
