I hope we never do get a Zelda game involving outter space; most of the people I've discussed it with are already upset that Link's using a train in Spirit Tracks, just think whta would happen if he went into outter space.

Funny, I said this to my friend one day. I was expecting a a no, since i thought it was silly myself, but he said something different. "If it is in the hands of nintendo, they can maybe pull it off." And I kind of believed that a little.

Possibly, but Nintendo's not infallible. They proved that when they released the Virtual Boy.

The problem is that setting Zelda in space would just make it a clone of Final Fantasy, at least in terms of plot if not gameplay, unless they seriously put some effort into making it original. Not impossible, but they'd have to be reeeeeally careful.

Now, before you think, "Don't be ridiculous! Why would Zelda ever go to space?" consider this. From Ocarina of Time back, the theme has been medieval. Enter Wind Waker, and there has been significant technological development. Canons, massive ships, cranes, very high-tech in comparison to the previous games. Now look at the newest one coming out, Spirit Tracks. Trains? That is a very quick development! So, my question still stands. Will there be a Zelda set on Planet Hyrule? If so, when?

If Nintendo makes this I will call the wrath of the Thunder God down upon thee.

No. But Steam-Punk Zelda on the other hand... They've already got trains, it's not that much of a stretch.
