It bombards you with silly until you can't help but smile.

It takes the humor of the original while multiplying it tenfold.

It's my favorite cartoon on TV right now.

So is Teen Titans Go any good as a goofy comedy about superheroes?
It's pleasantly enjoyable I would say for sure, I think most the reactions is literally due to the name, Teen Titans worked a good balance of comedy, action, and drama, which I'm unaware of others managing, not to forget people don't like change so removing the seriousness made them go on a rampage of disliking the series.
It's an above average series to me and I will most likely blaze through the whole series at some point.

There will be some valid complaints and opinion but for the most part it's just angry fans that are causing one sided low scores.

I was too old for Teen Titans when it came out.
I haven't watched Teen Titans Go, so I can't help you there, but I have to say, I really don't agree with your above statement. I mean hell, I'm 23 and I still love me some Teen Titans reruns, and there's people in their 20s and even 30s who watch My Little Pony.
I was about 14. I wanted to watch South Park and stuff with boobs in it, not cartoons for kids.
Well now that's just silly.

Aside from stuff like Blues Clues and Dora, there's no such thing as "Cartoons for kids"
At 14 there is.
Would i be rude to suggest that sounds silly?
*Props up on a soap box.*

Seriously. There's a world where kids actively aren't happy enough with teen titans and need south park? I don't wanna sound elite, I swear I don't,

but do you know how terrible your average cartoon is today? My head explodes at the idea that teen titans (regular) isn't at least worth a peak at 14.

Did you like comic books? I was a huge comic book nerd at 14, that's probably why i don't get it.
I was kind of the same at 14. I wanted to appear more "grown-up" so I didn't watch any "kid stuff" because it was embarrassing. This extended as far as Justice League Unlimited, which was an absolutely fantastic show.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that you're right - it was silly. 14 year old me was stupid.

Pretty much this. It's a phase that a lot of people go through, something people forget about that CS Lewis quote -- in addition to saying it's childish to be afraid of being seen as childish, he says that it's pretty normal for an adolescent to want to appear "very grown up." It's only once you're a grown adult and you still worry about it that it's inappropriate.

I never outgrew cartoons, but around the age of 12[footnote]right when the New Jedi Order books, which the title alone shows they were doing what I had been waiting for the EU to get around to ever since I read the Jedi Academy trilogy, were starting to come out[/footnote], I for some reason decided that I was too old to read the Star Wars EU novels. I've been kicking myself for that since high school, my backlog is massive because 12 year old me was an idiot XD

Although the original Teen Titans really wasn't that good. It's something you had to be young enough to not have much to compare it against, and it's old enough now that a lot of people have nostalgia goggles for it, too. So it was possible to be legitimately too old to enjoy it, and not just in the sense that you think you've outgrown cartoons. Because in all seriousness, if it were to premier for the first time today, most of the same people who gush about it would be bashing it.

I find myself laughing at it more than I'm not. It's certainly no adventure time, and it's a shame that it's a parody of a great childhood show, but enjoyable nonetheless.

It okay. Watch it if it's on and your bored, but I wouldn't go out my way to watch it.

I'd have to disagree with this. When I started watching the show a few months ago, I had basically no prior memories of the show at all, and I still loved it. Wasn't perfect of course, some of the dialogue was a bit goofy and the animation could be... weird at times. But in my opinion it did boast a superb bunch of voice actors, occasionally amazing writing and had one of the greatest cartoon villains I've ever seen(Slade).

As far as Go goes(hur), someone else accurately described it as a parody of the original show. That's basically what it is, all the characters act like cardboard cutouts of themselves. While I personally found it to be rather lacking in substance compared to the original, that's not really the point of Go. It's good for a laugh or if you really want to see more of those characters.

I'd definitely suggest giving the show a try, at the very least. It's definitely not deserving of '1s' or whatever the negative review people are giving it. Just don't expect too much from it.

But by your own description, the show was kind of decent but also very flawed. If you listen to the nostalgia goggles crowd, it was the best show ever, and Go! is an abomination. When in reality it's a solid parody of a mediocre at best show.

I wouldn't say very flawed. Obviously no show is perfect, in terms of numbers I'd give it a solid 8 out of 10. Evidently you disagree, 's cool. I digress anyhow.

Unsurprising that people are hostile towards Go though. Perhaps they see it as an 'inferior replacement' of the original(I felt the original ended where it needed to), and use it as a target for their pent up anger over it ending.

Or maybe it's just the usual internet thing of being overly-negative towards something they don't like.

I am guilty of the nostalgia goggles, but also the tone. I feel as though the Batman/Superman/Justice League stuff all had a reasonably serious tone. They were action with a bit of comedy. Teen Titans went a little more goofy and the more recent stuff Teen Titans Go, Brave and the Bold, etc. went even more towards the comedy and slapstick. As this is not at all my personal taste (i.e. I loathe Three Stooges/Lucille Ball etc.), I dislike the newer ones.

Teen Titans for me was about as fluffy as I liked the my DC cartoons to go, but if you like comedy and slapstick coming from your DC heroes and you don't mind the chibi-esque art style (of which I am also not a fan), give it a try.

If you want a goofy comedy about superheros Teen Titans Go is excellent.

If you want something deeper you'll be left wanting. But as far as goofy comedy goes it's practically gold.

EDIT
But... this is coming from someone who thinks you're never too old for Teen Titans.
And is a Brony
Just thought those two things might help put my opinion in perspective for you

It's an Adventure Time-esque show with the Teen Titan character line up. If you like Adventure Time (and other shows which are two or three short stories in a 30 min time slot, not a single show) and you like Teen Titans, you will probably enjoy Teen Titans Go. And there is the parody aspect going on in many of them as well, as others have stated. If you like parodies, you'll probably like TTG.

Personally I like it. The episodes are just long enough to tell an entertaining story, but short enough to not have many slow sections. I would PREFER the longer stories like the original Teen Titans show, but I won't complain about TTG.

I gave it a chance. But, it's basically just a bunch of skits without any lasting impact. And I found the skits to be hit and miss, heavily missing more than anything else. The characters are caricatures of the original show's cast, and it doesn't seem to know if it wants to consider the original show as a thing or not. If you're a fan of good action, you should definitely look elsewhere. And the humor seems more aimed at making fun of the characters than celebrating them or cracking jokes at the situations. Things which the original actually did do when it did comedy.

I will admit that I stopped bothering after about 3 or 4 episodes, though. There was a "plot" about Robin being jealous that Speedy was hitting on Starfire. Speedy ending up asking Starfire out, and Robin kidnapped him, dressed up as him, and then went to sabotage the date as Speedy. Not only did that seem entirely out of character, it was a lame and overused plot that I always hate. It was painful to watch.

So that pretty much ended my desire to even try to like it. Maybe it gets better, I don't know. I doubt it could get worse from there.

To the show's credit, I don't think I ever saw a fart joke. So that's something. Right?

I love Teen Titans Go! It's got some solid writing, and comedy behind it's childish art style. As many said before me, the series is surprisingly good. The series is less "Oh my god! Crime! Lets go fight it!" and more what happens in between. Cyborg's meatball Parties, laundry issues, Robin's Prized staff breaking, Robin's driving lessons, and such. It's more interesting than it sounds, IMO.

each episode is like 10-ish minutes long. 15 with commercials.

If you get Boomerang, I'm pretty sure there's a lot of reruns of the predacessor Teen Titans on Boomerang. I highly suggest watching it as it's a solid series, too.

My best advice, though, is to watch a few episodes when you can. Give it a chance, and make your own choice.

WAH!, it's not the same as TT and YJ has been cancelled, WAH!...

...*ahem* I've seen a few episodes and it's pretty meh overall, a nice little show to shut your brain off and watch funny looking cartoons doing stuff...
