Is Terraria worth the money?

I notice terraria is on the steam sale, and it is a game i used to want to get but kind of forgot about. So is it worth the money? (Sale price or full price) I do love minecraft also.

Also note i wont have any friends who have the game so I'll have to mainly enjoy it as a single player experience

5 hours? I bought it a week or two ago and I've put in 22 hours... about half of which was co-op. There's still plenty more for me to do/get including some bosses.

What is this post? Is this a joke? I feel I'm missing a reference of some kind that makes this funny.

In any case, Terraria, like Minecraft, rewards you for what you put into it. It's more 'progress' orientated than Minecraft: it's more akin to Castlevania.
I've clocked well over 190 hours so far, according to Steam. That's not including the hours on my Laptop. I paid $5.00 for it the last time it was on sale, and I've gotten more entertainment out of Terraria than I have out of Battlefield: Bad Company 2, Crysis 2, Starcraft II and Left 4 Dead combined.

At $5? Even more so.

If you like goals in your Minecraft, Terraria's for you. If you like trying new things, Terraria's also for you.

Very much so, keep in mind that they are constantly updateing with new content at a fairly consistant rate (i beleive that they have already added almost another game worth of content and there is a big content patch comeing sometime in the next few months as well)
