This is a stupid question, a stupid thread, you're stupid. Any civilisation at the technological level that Mass Effect is at would completely and utterly annihalate us without question. There's quite literally nothing we could do. This is the equivalent of the USA invading, say, that island off India's coast that has that tribe that attacks anybody that comes near it without provocation.

We getting uppity to the alien invaders? Drop an asteroid on one of our cities. Problem solved. Repeat as necessary.

And the people talking about find their enemies in their empire, way to assume an *alien* race acts anything like us. Even though it goes against what I mean, it helps to relate it to something we can understand - what if they are insectoid, like ants, and simply unable to be anything but a collective consciousness? I mean, the point is they are alien to us... completely and utterly alien usually means something we can't even conceive of or understand should we be faced with it.

I guess this boils down to, we'd be fucked, they have air superiority, and there's nothing we can do about it. Even if they want to keep to the arbitrary options of the OP, they just need to set off 8 to 10 EMP pulses at different points around the globe in our atmosphere.

Just so I can be as clear as I possibly can, I am *directly* telling you there is nothing we can do, there is no option you can muster up beyond divine intervention which has us winning.

Depends on how friendly or hostile they are. I for one wouldn't mind takeing a trip into outerspace on a alien ship... just as long as it wasn't as a slave.

Simple, i take command of all our deadalus class ships, put major sheppard in the drone control chair, keep atlantis cloaked behind the moon for an ambush and deploy all f-302 fighter interceptors and puddle jumpers to take care of any smaller alien craft.
My forces would make short work of these alien scum. The earth is not defenceless. Of course, it wouldnt actually be me eading our counter attack but some high ranking usaf officer

No, I don't think you've got it, no, we can't nuke them. We just can't do it. They would have to be a race of massively incompetent beings for it to work, it's just utterly inconceivable. While that may play into my saying they are alien to us, I personally don't think such an incompetent race could survive natural disasters, let alone the perils of space travel.

I mean, to demonstrate what I mean, they could literally just move their ship/s out of the way of the nuke. It's that simple. It would be like a giant person holding their hand on a small kids forehead while he tries to punch the giant.

First of all, I think it was perfectly logical to assume that "This is a stupid question, a stupid thread, you're stupid." is badmouthing both him and his thread.

Second of all, We have weapons that could easily blow up the earth if used right, we are fighting on our ground and we have men who would gladly give up their lives for queen/country/god ect. so assuming that we could win is not idiotic.
