I can understand hearing a different voice in your head as it relates to pitch. But really how can you not notice you have speech impediments such as slurring? You would think that would be notable regardless of pitch like if you were studdering.
Nah, my words sound more slurred on a recording than they do in my head. Not significantly, but enough.

at first I was suprised at how high pitched my voice was compared to how it sounded to me, but since puberty the thing that bothers me the most about the way I speak is that I sound like a robot.

I always hate hearing my voice. xD I just think it's weird hearing myself.

But I think I have a cute voice. :)

My voice sounds a bit more smart and arrogant than I originally thought and hoped.

I hate to hear myself. I think I talk through my nose and my mix of Australian, Barbadian and London accents just sounds fuked up.

I sound like a prepubescent boy on the phone and things, although I don't hear it that often so it's ok.

I do have turtle beach headphones, although I haven't used the mic yet but apparently it has voice feed back thing so you know if your shouting, not looking forward to using it.

I was playin Xbox with my headset, and I heard feedback of my voice and I said to myslef (since when was my voice that high and since when did I slurr my words?", I know that my voice will sound different to me due too vibration in my eardrums when Im speaking, but Im still a little disappointed.
Did you ask this same question when you heard your true voice or whatever?
Xbox feedback is really misleading. I have heard a real recording of myself and I sound...well..like myself, but over xbox I sound like an 8 year old -_-

I pretty much hate to hear my actual voice. I don't mind how it sounds to me, but my octave changes alot with my mood, so there's some variants of it that just really must be annoying for people to have to listen to.

I regularly record myself so I can hear how I sound. This is useful for any form of speech and debate.

I was always aware that I've been very good at enunciation, but I was never aware of how snobbish, or high pitched my voice is.

I always think I have a high pitched nasally voice, until I hear a recording. Also, I'm told regularly that I talk with a lovely voice, as though I was a singer. I'm not a singer - female, so not awful, but not good. My voice is strangely feminine, even for me being a girl.

I didn't know I spoke with such a monotone. I had to really try to sound happy in order to get a normal person's voice on my messaging. Then my best friend didn't believe it was me when he heard it.

I sound like my sister, when I listen to recordings of my voice. I never understood why people always confused the two of us on the phone until I started listening to podcasts of my radio shows. It still weirds me out a little.

I've never really "heard" my recorded voice, so I should try it out some time.

I'm the same way, like if I'm doing karaoke or hearing my voice played back on a message I'm always surprised at how low it sounds.
