That is the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my entire life.mowinckel107 said:since 9/11 is not a big deal (unless you are an American with your head stuck up your own ass) then it is impossible to get offended by it
America kills triple the amount that died in the towers every year and while it is sad for the people who died then USA as a nation did deserve it
That is a REALLY BIG stretch. Only one part of the entire region is based on New York City, which is on the southern tip of the central peninsula. The "Ground Zero" area is a small town in the North Eastern area of the region, and it's being "Terrorized" by a 9' 11" tall Pokémon is merely a myth, told to you by an old lady. The Pokémon in question is really just a giant Comet, it's an Ice and Dragon type. The crater is even further north than the town, and it's actually an interesting place, since it's full of fog and forests, it's more of like the miracle of life restarting after a large natural disaster, like a Volcano or a Flood. Honestly, I don't know who was retarded enough to even THINK that a Comet Pokémon terrorizing a city in what would essentially be Maine would be considered a jab at 9/11.rancher of monsters said:So I don't know if there was already a post about this, but I guess in the new Pokemon games Unova is modeled after New York City, complete with it's own Ground Zero. This is caused by a meteor which then leaves a pokemon who happens to 9 feet 11 inches tall. Obviously, I doubt that the Pokemon team had any serious negative intentions here, but it does seem a bit insensitive.
So you don't think Hiroshima's 166000 victims and Nagasaki's 60000 victims come close to have done as much as the 3000 who died in the terrorist attacks on September 11. 2001?SirBryghtside said:*Is from England*
It's not so much the amount of people who died - it's the fact that it was intentional.
I don't think any human-created events but large-scale wars have caused that much death, and certainly not that quickly.
And part of the reason I'm so opposed to it is because I once said something along mowin's lines, and got my first ever mod wrath because of it. And during that 3-day suspension, I realised that a lot of friends on this site were still affected by it.
I stand by my statement.
Your post, it makes more sense now. Otherwise, you really need to look at some history books again before you consider 9/11 to be "the worst" human-created event that killed several thousand people.SirBryghtside said:*Is from England*

I don't think any human-created events but large-scale wars have caused that much American death on home soil, and certainly not that quickly.

Funny. Japan brings up Hiroshima and Nagasaki, and American's tend to pass it off with a "Meh, get over it" or "You deserved it" reaction. Nice double standards some people have of tragic events, eh?PixelKing said:Yeah america should get over this happening but in the same thought I realised this: Think about your country, Has any thing like this happened in your country? Has your country "got over it?" Or does it still remembe and get offended if something like this happens?
