Old World Blues comes out Tuesday, so we couldn't tell you yet.

Dead Money was pretty meh. I'm too much of a Fallout fan to pass any of them up, but it's definitely passable if you're short of funds or attention-span.
+5 level cap raise is nice, though.

I despised Dead Money. I'll never be able to play through it again. It is full of things that make the gameplay tedious (the cloud, the collar, the holograms, the bear traps) and a relentlessly dreary atmosphere. Honest Hearts is great, though.

+5 level cap, +20,000 caps, +450 Stimpaks. It felt very small and aside from parts where you get instakilled for doing something wrong it felt pretty unchallenging. The companions you get talk way too much (not sure if they've toned them down in patches) apart from the one that doesn't talk. The end of the DLC is basically a trailer for the Ulysses DLC.

OWB seems like it will be good, but I haven't played it yet. With Dead Money, you get all your stuff taken off of you and if you collect all of the blueprints in there and max-out in the betting in there you can get an unlimited supply of medical equipment and repair kits.

I actually preferred Dead Money to the game. It changes the mood and pace a lot, by that point in the game I was just muscling through with a big gun so being brought right down was kind of fun. And very weird.

I'm tired of leveling up in New Vegas. The only way I can die now is laziness or complacency. I'd really like to play a story where I have a set character who starts with well defined abilities and limitations (that I can then improve upon through leveling) who can speak for him (or her) self. Just tacking on new levels and more powerful equipment is BORING. The meaty levels are from 5-15, it would be really nice to play a new story with a new character in a new area that is small and intimate somewhere in that level range.

In short, Old World Blues would have to bring something truly new to the table if I'm going to buy it, and I'm really not expecting much.

Obsidian has shown me so much over the years, and New Vegas was no different, but I don't see them delivering much more with any more NV dlc.

I bought both of them (DM & HH) but have yet to play them. I think I may be done with NV.

I thought Dead Money was excellent. It's like the Tomb of Horrors for Fallout, I really dug it. It is a supreme exercise in patience and your attention to detail, yet very rewarding both story-wise and game wise. Though, I really don't recommend doing it on Hardcore mode. I think they forgot sleep meters -_- makes it nigh impossible.

That said, if I ever do another NV playthrough, I might not go back. One of those things you should only be put through once, after that it just gets too tedious.

I actually really liked Dead Money but I'm a sucker for dark atmospheres and storytelling, both of which Dead Money had in spades. Plus I found the existence of the Sierra Madre and the mystery surrounding it oddly compelling, the fact that this old world hotel sits in the Mojave somewhere unknown, surrounded by this mystery toxic cloud that no one knows where it came from or what it is...yeah, it got me excited.

Old World Blues looks like it'll be good for a bit more of Fallout's goofy side.

Unrelated Note: Adverts are a prerequisite to post now? I was fine with captcha, Escapist but c'mon, there's few more sure-fire ways to turn people away from your forums, it won't turn everyone into Publisher's Club members.

Dead Money had a cool premisse...but it was piss easy, granted I died a few times from not finding the darned transmitter, falling down into cloud and didn't get up again fast enough or the holograms...but, and there is a but, you get the gamebreaking weapon from the first enemy.

I punched everything to death with the bear trap fist...and it really breaks the game economy.

I walked out of dead money with 20k chips, 5 gold bars each worth 10k chips and 150.000 pre-war money and in the BoS bunker inside Elijah's room you could trade cigarette packs/cartons for chips...and trade them for stimpacks, granted you found the recipie...resulting in me walking around with 1k stimpacks xD

So ye, although Dead Money breaks the game and makes it easy as pie...I liked it ;)

And definitly getting Old World Blues when it comes out :3

how were weapons and armor in dead money?
There's a fantastic piece of light armor for stealth-oriented characters. It's definitely the best armor in the game for people of that type. The guns were OK. I think there was a nice energy rifle, but I put 0 points into that skill so it was useless to me. There is a .38 Magnum (The Police Pistol) that is powerful and is a holdout weapon (so you can sneak it into casinos). And...I forget what else there is. There's gold, but you can't take much. Well...I couldn't (my strength was only three).

If you're a light-armor and gun-based character, then Honest Hearts has the better loot (with Joshua Graham's armor and A Light Shining In The Darkness, not to mention the Survivalist's Rifle). Since I've only been through each DLC with that kind of character, that's the only honest assessment I can give.
