Greetings to Everyone,

Just heard the news that they are dropping the PSP down to $129.99. This really got me to think that i might have to pick one up. The only proplem is I have not really kept up with the PSP so I do not know what games are out there for it. I was wondering if any of you guys and gals would recomend any of the psp games.

Thank you for your input,
The Knightly Gamer.

It has a wealth of RPGs. Persona 3 Portable, Jeanne D'Arc, Disgaea remakes, etc. If you like JRPGs then get one.

This is the only reason I still have my PSP. Of you want it for western games, its just trash (with the exception of the PSP God of War games) but if you love JRPGs then you will not regret it. Currently playing through Prinny 2 and its hilariously awesome! Prinny dood!

Patapon, Persona 3, and LocoRoco are the only reasons you need a PSP. Everything else is just gravy.

But?off the top of my head.
MGS Peace Walker
Jeanne d'Arc
Lumines
Prinny 1 & 2
Tactics Ogre
Final Fantasy Tactics
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII
Final Fantasy Type-0
Disgaea 1 & 2
Dissidia: Final Fantasy
Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep
Half-Minute Hero
God of War: Chains of Olympus
God of War: Ghost of Sparta

etcetera etcetera etcetera.

I own my PsP for two reasons.

The kingdom Hearts Franchise

The Dissidia Franchise.

Outside of that. I really have no use for my PSP anymore. I know, i know, heretic. But before my fellow owners hang me, my DS only continues to exist because of Kingdom Hearts, and Puzzle Quest is better with a stylus.

I'm not big on handheld gaming. Both systems are to big and bulky for my pockets and i don't travel that much. It really only makes me wish i could buy the above listed games on my PS3.

I want one but I still think the price is too high for what you're getting, and the NGP is coming this year. So I am gonna wait.

I've been considering getting one, but I only want really a few games for it. I want to get:

PSP Green/Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker Combo
SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite
Darkstalkers Chronicles
Maverick Hunter X (Megaman X Update for PSP)

The RPGs and such on the PSP make it nice to carry on long trips and such (well, and to sit around and play at home). I also like having older favorites from consoles available for portable play.

Pretty sucky. The GTA games are alright for a 10 minute play, any longer and you'll bore yourself stupid. Load times are horrible too.
The Little Big Planet game is pretty good though.

Dissidia will keep you occupied for a long time, and there's a sequel coming out soon.

It really depends on what kinds of games you like.

Of course, all my suggestions have been ninja'd.

[sub]Except this one: Project Diva 2nd. You'd have to import it, and all the menus are in Japanese, but good god it is awesome. At least if you like Vocaloids.[/sub]

EDIT: Hah, you missed the Phantom Brave remake. I mean, it hasn't been released here yet, but I'm still counting it as a good game for the PSP. Pre-emptively.

I love mine. The wipeout series, KH, god of war, syphon filter, n+, ratchet and clank, and many many more are on the PSP.

Plus homebrew is quite advanced for the platform if you choose to take that route. I have a program set-up that allows me to RDC to my desktop over wifi with the PSP. It is quite useful.

Dont feel about not keeping up with the PSP, Sony hasn't either.
If you can get a 2K model PSP (the earliest version), they're really easily hacked and then you can .... *Piracy is bad, M'kay*...
There's some pretty good games on there, if your fingers and eyes can handle it.
I remember Vice City Stories was a fun game.

EDIT: Crisis Core was amazing, especaily if you're like me and didn't play FF7 first

Short Answer: What everyone else said as suggestions.

Long Answer: The Metal Gear Acid series, Worms 2: Open Warfare, Twisted Metal: Head-On, and a MediEvil game!

PSP is awesome, there are some amazing games.. especially RPGs as stated. Also whats great is you can hook up the PSP to your TV and use your PS3 controller to play games on your couch/bed on a big screen. We were late to the PSP but we got a PSP Go last christmas and its been really loved and used.

The PSP is a wonderful system, there are enough brilliant games out there to keep you interested, and because it's a powerful little handheld, you get wonderful new games (Half Minute Hero being one) and all round fantastic games, some of them spin-offs of great series (Square Enix actually shine here). And then you have all of it's other features, some of which can be a tad gimmicky, but some are highly useful indeed, like the Playstation Store, where you can get PS1 ports

If you dont own one, buy one before NGP, you wont regret it, especially seeing as how most of the UMD games for it will be nice and cheap too

Not suprised price has been dropped considering the SE Zues (PSP2 that doubles as a cell phone) is launching. Should allow you to download the legacy PSP games I guess. PSP2 is going to have significantly increased power over PSP1 and the associated price tag no doubt.

I have always thought about picking up a PSP for some of the attractive games on it - Crysis Core ect. I probabaly wouldn't use it much as an actual mobile gaming device - my android phone fits that bill ok among other uses.

I am intersted in hooking it up to my PS3 and playing games through my TV though. Would imagine the resolution gets somewhat stretched and ends up looking like an old PS2 game? Anyone care to comment on how PSP looks and plays on a TV and if worth getting for this sole purpose?

As I said seen a few games that piped my interest. Not sure if the PSP2 will be released stand-alone or just as the cell phone version.
