Is the Wii getting desperate?

True but lack of 3D use and an awful lot of shitty titles doesn't look too good compared to PSP. Even if PSP games suck too, that bloody thing has so much power that any retard can design a 3D game for it, unlike DS in which case Nintendo are the only ones who give a shit and try to squeeze out some decent 3D out of the handheld.
Again; YOU DON'T NEED 3D TO MAKE A GOOD GAME.

I made the point, you agreed, and then went on to complain that no one can make a good 3D game for the DS. You don't need 3D to make a good game. Look at all the consoles up until the Playstation. None of them had 3D graphics (except for Starfox on the SNES), but there were many good games.

i just hope that brawl redeems the wii entirely. Of course the 3 day line i'm going to have to wait in to get the damn game thats been delay god knows how many times, should be interesting. When i was waiting in line for the console itself 3 fights broke out, stupid consumers, cant stand having one more person ahead of them in line.

I was lurking around my local Gamestop, doing what I like to think I do best, which is annoy the management to death with inane small talk about videogames. And at some point, the clerk brought up that he believed that Nintendo has chucked out its "Seal of Quality" and has let the Third-party developers run rampant. This theory did have substantial evidence to back it up, there were titles that were blatant rip offs of other franchises, other games that claimed to be sequels of games that never existed, and some titles that was so horrendously ugly, that my eyes had jumped from my sockets, bitchslapped me, and the set fire to the game box.

I find it strange, the Wii is being heralded as the next thing in gaming, and that its leaving the X-box 360 and the Playstation 3 in the dust, and yet aside from a small number of titles (Chiefly Zelda and Mario) its produced mostly giant piles of shit. Mind you, Playstation 3 can also be accused of the same, but it has the excuse of trying to stuff tons of ultra-pretty graphics into its games (but neglecting everything else.) So what is Nintendo doing? Why are they saturating the market with so many bargain-bin titles, that even at best, can be called mediocre?
Totally agree, and what eeks me the most is that (at least in all the EB-Games stores in Australia) we are being charged FULL PRICE for these shocking ports. They just aren't dropping the price!

For me, there are only 3 games worth playing on the Wii - Super Mario Galaxy, Prime Metroid, and Resident Evil 4. That's it. OK I'm addicted to Wii Tennis but that doesn't count....

I would be a PS3 owner who is popular and parties but doesn't drink. I just got one because it's a future investment. I plan on getting the Wii but the cycle is more like this:

Mario
Zelda
Metroid
Pokemon
Spinoff
Spinoff
Pokemon
Spinoff

I do enjoy the games that everyone else hates though. Like Wii Sports or Wii Play. I think the PlayStation series won't last for much longer. (and I have loved PS the most the whole time) It seems that way with what I've read lately.

He's pointing out the fact that there is no Pokemon game for the Wii yet.
OBJECTION!

Pokemon Battle Revolution says hi.
Actually, i heard that that 'game' is nothing much. You just get to battle pokémon in 3D, and that's it. Well, that's what i've heard. So i wouldn't call it a game.

Onto the topic, maybe this is the same thing as blaming america for many of it's faults. Maybe this company is longer around, which also makes it easier to blame it for mistakes on their part.

But that's just me saying stuff.

You are posting on a gaming website. Ergo, your first statement is a lie (at least the popular part).

Id like them to release a NEW console that carries on where the GameCube and N64 left off.
That's...probably not going to happen. I remember hearing that the DS wasn't the "true" successor to the GBA, and nintendo was going to develop another handheld to carry the gameboy name. While that very well may have just been a rumor, we still just have the DS a few years later.

Chances are it's going to be the same for the Wii. The formula is working right now, why change it? Nintendo really didn't have much of a choice to try and succeed in this generation. Sony was coming from the immensely popular PS2, and Microsoft's willing to just throw money at the problem until it becomes profitable. Microsoft was also releasing earlier too. The execs at Nintendo had to have realized the status quo had failed two generations in a row, and not just with console design. If the wii had failed, it's very likely that nintendo might have just gone the way of sega and abandoned the console race.

As for the topic post, I don't think so. You tend to see a lot of poor 3rd-party titles for all the consoles. It may seem more pronounced with the Wii since there's the whole *let's not bother with the motion-sensing controls!* that the Wii's known for. But, realistically, the PS3 has a similiar amount of games out. And the 360 has more games in general, so there's more crap to go along with the good.
