after reading a particular article on wired.com, which stated a game could only be banned if it had no redeeming social, political or cultural value, i couldn't think of one wondering what everyone though or even if they could think of any and put a good justification on it.

Surely that's a very subjective matter. I don't think one person can say that something has no value to anyone.

Honestly? Postal 2. Ironically, it's a PC exclusive, meaning it'll easily jump through any law due to the magic of digital distribution and/or piracy.

When I first read this my first instinct was to write "God of War" and I don't know entirely why that's the first game I thought of

"The Man Game"

If you know what it is, you know why.
If you don't know what it is, well keep it that way.

I gotta agree with these guys. These were the first ones that popped to mind, besides "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties".

This may be the closest thing to a useless game I've ever heard of; JFK: Reloaded. Google it yourself.

I don't think there is either.
After all even a really bad game is a good example of how not to make a game.

Yea, "The Man Game" And Postal 2 are about it. I'm sure there are plenty of games in Japan as well though. Manhunt is a maybe.

Rapelay?

I don't know.

Can't all games be social? Whether it be over the net or getting the mates round to play. Although getting all your mates round to play rapelay is just wrong.

I second this, mostly out of laziness but also because it's an interesting case. The game was never banned in the US because there were never any plans to stock it.

But the public outcry led to its de-listing on Amazon.

There's a point in there somewhere, anyway...

Postal 2 is satire, and so wildly over the top it's impossible to take seriously. Personally I love it for its audacity and willingness to go where other more PR sensitive titles fear to go.

A game with no redeeming social, political or cultural value?

Pong.

Of course it has no damning social, political or cultural value either so...
