Have you ever had a teacher who you really hated?
I know I have. Three actually.
Since I'm still just in high school, I know that list is going to increase over time.
First off, my Grade 9 Business tech teacher. (For the sake of not being unlucky, I'm not going to give their names, because who knows, maybe they like the escapist as much as I do.) He couldn't tell if the person next to him was playing Unreal Tournament, and deliberately never gave a perfect mark on any assignments. To top all that, he didn't teach, made us take notes by hand when we had fully functional PC's in front of us, and skipped more class than me! This in all honesty, is not my worst.
Second, is my grade 9 illiterate virgin English teacher. Don't get me wrong, she's hot as hell. But she's the biggest hypocrite you'll ever meet. The things she takes off one assignment, she'll forget when she gets to the next person, leaving a very biased mark to all the girls in the class. Once she said to me "I only gave you a 70 because I wasn't listening, so your lucky you got even a 70."
Next off, my Grade 10 Canadian History teacher once gave us an assignment to write a paragraph about the causes of WWI, he stressed the point that it is a paragraph a lot. Believe me. When he gave it back, I got a 54, and the person next to me, who gave the wrong name of the person who instigated the war (Archduke Francis Ferdinand by the way)and also wrote 2 pages worth, and still had less information than me, got a 70. His excuse was one typo I made as well as my intro and conclusion weren't long enough. Hmm, I seemed to remember him mentioning something about a paragraph limit.

I had a grade 11 law teacher who thought he was king shit, and was a sarcastic jerk to all the students. Now, don't get me wrong. I've had sarcastic teachers before who were hilarious and I loved them, but this guy had what those other teachers didn't have: apathy. Plus he didn't like the fact that I didn't take any of his crap and could quip back at him faster then he could think. Long story short, he failed me by 1& in the class and wouldn't let me make it up in anyway. Well when I graduated, all the students walked by all the teachers and shook their hands. He said to me 'Hey! You made it!' to which I responded with a big smile: 'No thanks to you, asshole!'

And in case he likes The Escapist...Mr Waller, you're an asshole...still.

Funny story. Though you guys sound like you had some really shitty teachers, in the uptight liberal politically correct New York suburbs I live and go to school in, my teachers seem fairly decent compared to that. Hell, the worst I could say was this one teacher who knew nothing about what she was talking about, taught completely out of the textbook, gave us the most ridiculous time-wasting assignments I've ever heard of (Like making and singing songs with history-relevant lyrics. In 8th grade. Not cool), and only remembering to check the homework that one night that you think, "oh well she never checks it, I just won't do it this time." Though then again since she was so oblivious I just moved my seat to the back of the room and talked to my friends most of the time.

I had a 7th grade science teacher, And well she pretty much made us teach ourselves. She would sit her fat ass down and make no sense whatsoever.

Well you "could" work on your intro, for this thread.

From what I could gather reading this:

In history, you have to give a lot of details. You mentionned you gave one paragraph. Which gives me the idea, you just skimmed the surface.

By typo, do you mean grammar, spelling and syntaxe?
Intro: You have to say your subject and explain which aspect you're explaining
Conclusion: Summarize your entire project. It's also recommended to ask a question to further an interest.

To answer the thread: I remember my old french teacher. She made us work on projects without teaching grammar. I was lucky...I passed.

For this, I wasn't really trying to do anything fancy, just to get my message out. I know my intro wasn't the best, I'm not proud of it at all to be completely honest. The typo was a missed space, so it said 'thewar' or something along those lines. Don't remember exactly.

Ok then, it makes sense. You could always hit the "edit" button if you want to change it.

I'm sexually attracted to two of my professors, so not this year, no.

In the past though, there have been plenty of teachers I'd pay to have killed.

I will not give the name of this certain maths teacher, but we have another name for him at my school. MAMBO. He is a twat. And when he speaks... well here is one of his usual conversations. I am therefore, simply, basically just saying that.. and so on. Imagine that in a thick yet incredibly dull Scottish accent.

The teachers I got on the worst with in high school, in retrospect, were the ones who were trying their hardest to make me pull my finger out of my ass when I couldn't give two shits. Led to a lot of butting heads I guess. I thought they were assholes, they were probably frustrated as hell I was throwing my options away.

Hindsight is a funny thing. Maybe I should cruise by my old school and say thanks.

I find it hard to hate teachers being married to one and the product of 2. However most of the male teachers at my old school were absolute bastards. One hit me in the face with a steel rule, one put me in detention for a month for getting beaten up.

They allowed me to be hospitalised 4 times by bullies, which was nice.

My school life was like Kes but without the Kestrel!

The worst teacher I had was a High School Econ teacher whose goal in life was to turn us into Republicans. Econ was a joke class to begin with. The ammount of material that had to be covered did not warrent a month's worth of lecture much less the year it was given. So this guy took it upon himself to spout conservative propoganda to fill up the dead space. In and of itself this wasn't too offensive. However he took it upon himself to involve the class in a question and answer format some teaching book refers to as a "discussion". I can't bring my self to refer to this as a real discussion since it consisted of him making an oppionated statement, asking what a random student thaught of it, then berating that student if they disagreed.

There was always one teacher that would catch me whilst I was listening to music. It's not technically allowed but most just turned a blind eye to it, as long as it wasn't in classes. Other than ONE and he saw me every damn time! The amount of notes I faked got so huge that I could just re-use old ones in a never ending cycle of lies. It never stopped me doing it again the next day though.

Fortunately I've had only one annoying teacher. She taught English for us. We did learn in her classes but she was kinda annoying. "France is the best! French is the best language ever! Blaablaablaa!"

Though there was this other teacher who was supposed to replace our history teacher. She was on our history class once. She asked us did we know what NATO is. Ummm... right... we were 17 years old! Of course we knew what NATO is! That was just an example of how much she underestimated us. Fortunately, our history teacher decided to stay in the school. Seriously, anyone who's ready to dress as a fairy and dance ballet in the graduation ceremony is officially awesome!

My 7th grade Lang. Arts teacher: We're doing reports on black musicians, she didn't let us do Bob Marley because he did pot. Thank god she didn't know Ray Charles was on heroine, because he's who I did. I'm in high school now, but I have friends back in middle school who tell me she got fired. If so: YES!!

The music teacher for the entire middle school (who's tenured, so she won't be fired like the last one) was such a *****. I can't even remember any specific thing she did, they've all blended together, but I think she scarred a few kids for life.

to the person who posted this, mine is the exact same as you! like no joke, my ****** tech teacher thought he was a cool guy cause the loser kids with no friends brought him chocolate, he also made fun of my friend the day after his grandma died.. it took all my strength the whole symester from not knocking his ass out, also, his name rhymed with qweer (thats probably incorrect spelling.. whatever) and one time my friend said it by accident, and he elbowed him in the top of the head, so i said it.. but he didnt do anything to me cause he knew id hit him back.
and just like you i had an english teacher who favoured girls and gave me shit marks even though i followed everything perfectly, i made one joke about how girls cook early on in the year, and it just turned out shes a lesbian and a big equality supporter or whatever, and it pissed me off, she said repetition was her biggest "pet peve" (who the fuck says that?) and every single class, talking about shakespeare, she would repeat the same fucking things like the saying "concept of death" if i would have counted shed have said it easily over 15 times..
my grade 10 history teacher always talked about how his dad fought in world war 2 against germans and things like this, how proud he was his dad killed germans.. and we had 2 german kids in our class that he picked on for no reason.. he was nice to everyone else though.

but if we are talking about terrible teachers someone has to mention a good one!

last june my grandpa died, and the vice principal of the school said that my brothers, my cousins and i would not be exempt from exams, even though we were in the hospital with him for 2 weeks while all inclass reviews were going on, and about a week before exams started my cousin whos a year older and i went into the school to find our teachers and get reviews for the exams, and i only found 2 of my teachers, my business teacher and my history teacher, and when i found my business teacher she helped me search the whole school for my other two teachers, half of the time she had a class! but they were just doing review, and we looked through second period and into lunch and she never got to eat because she was helping me, and when i was just about to leave my cousin found me and said she couldnt find her teachers, so my business teacher, not even knowing my cousin helped her find everyone of her teachers.. and i always think thats how you can pick apart the teachers who care and who dont, a normal teacher would say "go to the office and have them paged" but my teacher explained to me that if they are busy what-so-ever they can ignore pages unless it says it is urgent, and the secretaries at my school are bitches so they wouldnt say it was urgent because i had like all day to get my reviews.. but from then on my cousin says that my business teacher is her favourite teacher in the school, and shes never even had her for a class

well that was a lot of typing, thanks for anyone who read it, and sorry for any gramatical/spelling errors
