Is there a telekinesis game?

I don't know why but I always liked telekinesis as a power; it has so much potential but it still doesn't make things too easy. Is there any videogame that really explores the concept? The only ones I know of are Skyrim and arguably Half life and in both cases it's pretty basic without getting into things like flight.

There is Second Sight, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed 1 and 2. The last one is obviously not about telekinesis, but you can pretty much throw around anything you see with Force powers.
Second Sight is the least action oriented of all. It's more of a stealth game.

That platformer with the wizard, rogue and warrior. Completely blanking on the name. The idea is you can solve most puzzles using either of the three characters powers and the wizards power is telekinsis. I always found the wizard the most fun to play as you really have to use your imagination to solve the puzzles and there isn't just one way to do it.

Trine 1 and 2. Probably the most gorgeous two games ever made.

I'M SO SORRY, WHY GOD!

Psi Ops is the only one that comes to mind and has already been mentioned by two people.
So yeah.

Buy Psi-Ops RIGHT NOW.

I have never had such fun in a game. The physics are incredible for a 6th gen game and tossing enemies around with abandon is so fun. It isn't like Half-Life's gravity gun, either. It gives you full control to pick up and manipulate objects, allowing you move them slowly and peacefully into another place or toss them violently and it allows you to pick up almost every common enemy. The story is quite poor but you CAN MAKE PEOPLE'S HEADS BURST WITH YOUR MIND, WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT.

Destroy All Humans gives you a similar level of power, and it takes place in a series of highly destructible sandboxes. By the end of the game, you are powerful enough to lift and throw giant mechs. Also you get a flying saucer! It's another 6th gen multi-format game and it is incredible fun. The sequel is good, too, but less so. Never played the 7th gen entry. The writing can be pretty funny in this one.

Second Sight is more of a stealth game but still gives you that level of control and the ability to pick up and manipulate enemies. Your other psychic abilities make the stealth very creative and fun and the narrative, whilst nothing groundbreaking, is interesting while you play.

But yeah, these games all give you much more flexibility and control than your Half-Lifes and whatnot. Well worth playing, all three of them.

Psy-ops was so fucking cool! I remember watching my friend play it on the ps2. The fact that you controlled the hight of objects with your telekinesis using the pressure sensitivity of the ps2 controller is still awesome to me. Why don't more games take advantage of that with the ps3?

I once got curious as to whether Psy-ops had a pc version and apparently you can play it for free now but with ads or something. At the same time I looked into Second Sight and not only did it have a pc version, it came out on GoG but they took it down months before I could buy it. Damn copy right laws...

Son of Nor. It's not finished yet, but it might be in early access. I would wait until it's finished though since it's a story-based game. It looks like heaps of fun.

Throw Trucks With Your Mind is an interesting one, again it's a Kickstarter one that hasn't been finished yet. You need an EEG headset to control the powers. You control the game like any other when you move around and target things, but you use your telekinetic powers by either focusing your mind or calming it.

Saints Row IV has a telekinesis power. It's fun, but it's pretty barebones. The rest of the powers and the general gameplay make up for it though.

The Force Unleashed 1 and 2 both make you feel very powerful with the force. Honestly, they're probably the ones that have done telekinesis the best out of everything I've played.

Telekinesis is one of the unlockable powers in Saint's Row 4.

It goes great with electricity and health stealing.
p.s. This may not be actual spoilers. I just wanted the practice.

Barebones, you say? Pshaw! Try upgrading it, and then tell me how minimalist it is.

Im not surprised that nobody mentioned the BIOSHOCK series for telekinesis powers. Unfortunately, IMO, that power was all but useless. I never bothered with it except ONE part of the game. It seems like it could be an incredibly awesome power, but in Bioshock, there just wasn't enough stuff in the environment to interact with using that power.

It's not really a "game" in the normal sense, but Garry's Mod had loads of using telekinesis to throw things around and make them levitate and stuff. I also like telekinesis as a power, and Garry's Mod made an interesting use of it.

Really I found telekinesis to be my favorite plasmid, it was very useful against enemies using explosive weapons and there were quite a few physics objects that were pretty effective like the gas canisters.

As others have said SR4 has a pretty simple but fun telekinesis power, its especially fun to combine with super speed by holding an object in front of you as you run to smash things up.

I'm surprised I haven't seen anyone mention Psychonauts (if you haven't played it go do so now) which features telekinesis as one of the various psychic powers at your disposal. Its fairly simple, limited to grabbing stuff and tossing it for the most part, but still pretty fun.

Not to mention you could use it on corpses and kill enemies with the bodies of other enemies, which was always fun.

Geez, now you are both making me want to replay it this weekend and give telekinesis another shot... I think I might. I am always down to revisit great games! A previous post, reminded me that I still haven't finished Psychonauts... sigh, too much of a backlog.

I thought the best use of "telekinesis" was Half-life 2's Gravity Gun. I loved using that weapon.

It's because it was a typical "pulls object towards you, release button to throw" type telekinesis rather than giving you full control to move and manipulate objects. Bioshock and Half-Life (and Saint's Row, if I remember?) only allow you to pull objects towards yourself then toss them away. Psi-Ops, Destroy All Humans and Second Sight let you pick things up and hold them there, move them slowly or throw them in any direction and even manipulate how high you are holding them. It's a much stronger telekinesis power fantasy, imo, than you just throwing objects as a projectile.

Why isn't psychonauts getting more love here? It is THE telekenesis/psychic game. All the levels take place inside a characters mind. All your powers are different forms of psychic abilities. The level of detail in that game is amazing, go play it. Now.
