Is there a way to turn off Steam trading cards?

No offense to anyone but going to the hassle of selling 60 cards to earn $10 might seem great if you're at school or don't have a job. To the real world though this just isn't worth the time.

They're making a mockery of the digital distribution system that used to be steam with all this crap.

If they start making a game out of it there should at least be an opt out option, or better yet an opt in option. They could even develop a system similar to the way that you used to opt in to games which was clicking on it and installing it. *rolls eyes*

If you don't want them then other people will take them off your hands or you can just sell them for real monies!

Is there any use to the cards at all? Like getting free games or something?

You can also get coupons from crafting badges, for instance I have gotten ones for 90% off the latest Serious Sam game and 50% off Killing Floor.
