I saw that IGN played The Last Guardian this week.

http://m.ign.com/articles/2016/05/27/the-last-guardian-the-shocking-truth-about-trico-ign-first

Knowing this game could possibly get a release date at E3 makes me want to play through ICO and SotC.

There will also be the Neo reveal and release date, as well as a possible price drop on the current PS4.

I'm also wondering if Santa Monica Studio will show their next game, and perhaps CDPR's Cyberpunk 2077.

Call me crazy but I'm actually for the first time getting excited about The Last Guardian.

I look forward what Rockstar may show, if they show anything that is.
Also a new Elder Scrolls but that may be too early, so not expecting anything in that direction.

Microsoft are going to announce Halo 5/Gears of War 4 for PC, pretty hyped about that.

I hope Valve announces a game, L4D3 seems most likely but I'm not expecting much if anything from Valve.

I would also hope so it will always remain hope because valve will never announce any game unless miracle happen.

anyways I want to see

Deus Ex Mankind divided (more of)
New Metro game (that is confirmed to be sandbox)
Dishonored 2 gameplay
Squadron 42 proper gameplay
System shock 3 or remake
More old school FPS from respected developer.

Okay, some predictions that will most likely happen:

- One or more of the big players (probably Microsoft) will try to convince us that something blatantly not in the consumers best interest, is in fact the best thing ever.
- A substantial amount of the games showcased will be sequels.
- We will be shown gameplay trailers that are in fact prerendered. Bonus points if the contents of said trailer in no way reflect the final product.
- At least one press conference will be cring-worthy for some reason. Choices abound, like "PR person does sad attempt at being hip and with it" or "PR person is obviously faking playing a game."
- Nintendo will not be there.

Ok, now that we've plucked the low-hanging fruit, perhaps a prediction that is less cynical:

They're probably going to have a major focus on VR.

There are loads of things I would like announced but I am not expecting many if any of them lets see for a few :-

Dissidia Arcade gets a console release date and will have all FF characters ever in.
Soul Calibur 6 gets announced and will have an improved character creation mode, all the old cast (new ones in 5 ret-conned out of existance except Viola and Zwei) and will have a full single player mode.
Tekken 7 gets a console release date
More Final Fantasy 7 remake news including getting to see all the cast.
Darkstalkers 4 announced with Capcom announcing they are going back to start shipping full games again.
CVS3 announced
steins Gate 0 gets an actual Eng release date (so hyped its actually getting an English release)
Bayonetta 3 announced
Nintendo NX release date announced along with all new Nintendo IP.

Oh and Sony announces the Neo comes with a free VR headset or vice versa.

Is this E3 "predictions" or "hopes?" Seems a bit mixed.

Oh well.

Predictions

-Console upgrades, VR
-Electronic Arts shows off sports games, and we'll get our first proper look at Titanfall 2 and Andromeda (granted, they've been confirmed, so this isn't really a "prediction" per se)
-Bethesda will show off The Elder Scrolls 6, Prey 2 and something from Machine Games, if Prey 2 isn't that game already. Maybe a Wolfenstein sequel.
-Gears of War 4 stuff from Microsoft, likely a first proper look at ReCore, coupled with the confirmed appearances of Halo Wars 2 and Forza, and possible depiction of Rare's new game
-Nintendo spends most of their time with the NX, with The Legend of Zelda being the showcase games (granted, the latter is confirmed)
-Ubisoft will give us a first proper look at Watch Dogs 2, Wildlands, and an update on the status of For Honour
-Sega will showcase one or more Sonic games - Fire and Ice for the "Boomverse," and a new Sonic game for the mainstream series that's similar to Generations in that it will at least incorporate "Classic Sonic."
-Lots of stuff from Square Enix (just look at the Wikipedia article), but off said article, more info on Final Fantasy VII and another Tomb Raider game
-Resident Evil 7 is revealed (this is part wish, part prediction, but I'm going with the latter as I think there's a fair chance of it)

Wishes

I want a pony. Doesn't mean I expect hoofbeats. But fine, I'll make predictions that at least have a chance of coming true (i.e. no games from Nintendo, as it's been confirmed that Zelda is the only game they'll showcase)

-Halo 6 (I'm really not counting on this to appear at all, but hey, I can still hope)
-Bungie showcases the rumored Marathon remake (if revitalizing "old school" FPS is a thing now, then I'll gladly endure yet another Doom reboot if Marathon gets some love)
-Mistborn: Birthright is revealed, and is actually decent
-Perfect Dark is revealed in all its glory, in a sequel that pushes the series decades into the future so it doesn't feel out of place timeline wise, and it takes inspiration from Rucka's Perfect Dark novels and...hah hah, yeah, I can't do this. :(
-Resident Evil 7 is not only revealed, but is also everything that I could hope it to be (horror, but not a reboot)
-Activision/Blizzard reveals Metal Arms 2 (if only so I can get those characters in Heroes of the Storm) ;)
-A Warhammer: Age of Sigmar game is revealed (while I have little love for the setting, I'm willing to give it a chance through game format, considering that in the wake of recent Warhammer FB/40K developments, there's certainly potential for good games within the IP)

Yeah, I predict it'll put out a bunch of overhyped nonsense that'll turn in to massive disappointments.

EDIT: I also predict that no one'll learn from the massive disappointments and get just as overhyped next year.

This is my prediction. I'm going to mark it in spoilers because of how accurate it is. I will be back after E3 to say 'I told you so'.

Day 0, There will be an announcement that The Last Guardian has been scrapped, but instead are working on Shadows of the Colossus 2. Sony will announce that all new games will be available only on the PS4.5 despite earlier announcements. They will also announce coming out as pro gamer gate, far to late to the problem, both sides claim this as a win for them.

Day 1, Microsoft will announce their plan for all games to require a payment every time you load it up. They will explain it as being good for consumers as they only need to pay as much as they play and that this is the way of the future. They will also announce they are anti gamer gate, both sides claim this as a win for them.

Day 2, EA will announce that they are making a console and all EA games will only come out on their console. It will be always on, require a constant connection to the internet and will incorporate Microsoft idea from yesterday. EA does not comment on gamer gate, both sides agree this as a win for them, their first ever agreement, leading the way to peace between the warring factions.

Day 3, Microsoft will announce that we misunderstood what they were trying to achieve and had already scrapped what ever we were angry about before E3 started. EA will continue the plan as scheduled. Nintendo announces a new Mario game.

Day 4, Ninjas appear to murder everyone but are confused when everyone has already left so just clean up.

Kingdom Hearts 3, Dishonored 2, and Horizon Zero Dawn... that's it. That That's all that matters. All other games, as far as I know, are irrelevant.

Edit: And Nioh

Microsoft install Windows 10 on Xbones so when Xbone gamers get home they realise they are no longer console gamers. Enjoy Cortana trying to sell you a pizza while you're immersed in your games every two minutes. New controller which casts light or shadows announced (for peripheral vision enhancement,) also has handy cortana button because 'you need it.' Scorpio not announced, but teaser pic at end shows it doesn't have anywhere to put disks. Something something Halo something something incomplete. Buzzwords - always on, cloud, always connected. Dude who usually wears a suit wears tee-shirt and jeans - so cool - with 20k dollars on un-natuaral bleached white teeth corporate smile, looks like he should be selling used cars or payday loans.

Peter Moore will fail to be funny on stage despite him being quite a funny guy IRL.

Body odour is worse than usual this E3, and that combined with 'virtual reality sickness' I guess means the stench form E3 is going to be epic... and there will probably be pink sawdust all over the floor too.

Sony will gloat about selling 40million PS4s, and also gloat that now Xbones are running on windows 10 that makes PS4 even more powerful because PS4's OS doesn't need like all the RAM. Nier 2 and FF7 are showstoppers, but that Anita woman will say something daft on twitter about Nier 2 being misogynistic and FF7 being Xenophobic, despite erm... the truth. Last Guardian still looks like it's running at 10fps. Neo announced and much more powerful than predicted, but also more pricey than predicted. Dude who usually wears jeans and a tee-shirt wears a suit and nobody notices, but just like Microsoft guy wouldn't look out of place selling used cars or payday loans.

Nintendo of America guy will wear a bear costume. Selected older Nintendo games getting released on PC and android platforms on exclusive storefront but nobody cares because bear costume.

Treasure tease a game that actually doesn't appear to have slowdown problems. When released is plagued with slowdown problems.

Terrorists? Earthquakes? World war 3? Hasn't EA buggered off to do their own thing now they feel they're too good for E3? Or maybe they get a lot of shit from pesky reporters asking difficult questions each year about their consistently insulting business practices.
I tend to avoid watching anything E3. Something about the high concentration of multiple marketing groups using enough money to solve a good number of world problems on trying to manipulate prehyped spoilt children to part with even more money...sort of makes me feel a special kind of ill. Everything is always over the top and awesomified like neon striped, turbo injected rocket tigers...but in the end it's just trailers and announcements. Hyyyyyyype! World war 3. Earthquakes. Terrorists.
