Bethesda...

They made such a brilliant job with the immersion in FO:3, it's too bad it fell absolutely flat in FO:NV. :/
...You what?

Oh and bethesda didn't make fallout new vegas Obsidian did.

Failed troll
I what?

Am I under a wrong impression that Bethesda had a finger in the making of NV? http://kotaku.com/5684440/five-million-fallout-new-vegas

They praise it's success and talk about orders here?

And how am I a troll for wishing that FO:NV had the same immersive power that I felt FO3 had?

You what?

Wow you are either ignorant or just don't understand the Fallout series. The only great game Bethesda has ever made is TES III: Morrowind.
Isn't that personal opinion?

And what are you talking about "not understanding"? How have I not "understood" the Fallout series? I'll admit I've only played through all of FO3, and just partway through Fallout 2, so I might not be THAT much of an expert of them.

Please explain your point before blurting out stuff.

APB.... MMO Cops and Robbers in a Saints Row 2 style world? How did people not line up for that? Was the game play bad?

Fallout 3 did a very bad job at capturing and explaining what the Fallout series is all about. It just used the setting to create a bunch of stuff for the person to do and make "cool" robots and characters. That true story of the Fallout universe is what would happen to humanity after a nuclear apocalypse that was caused by their own greed for power. Fallout 3 did not show this at all. I could explain all the things wrong with F3, but I won't, it takes too long.

Battlefield 2142.

Quite a few glitches and bugs and the guns felt toy-like but there's no denying that Titan Mode was awesome fun.

And Clone High.

Take that back -- Daggerfall was awesome, buggy mess or not. :p

OT: I really wish Shogo: Mobile Armor Division had done better. It was easily in the top two FPS games of its time, and it still holds up well today, but darn it if it wasn't released just before the original Half Life, which most of the PC gaming community saved their money for, skipping Shogo in the process. Monolith promised us sequels in the credits, but it sold so poorly that they never even finished the first expansion pack.

I just... there is just so much wrong with that statement. So here's a list...

Examples of "what would happen to humanity after a nuclear apocalypse that was caused by their own greed for power"

- Fight remnants of a pre-war experiment gone awry in an effort to preserve mankind.

- Vie for power in a shadow war between a shadow government that seeks to restore the glory of the old United States through reunited everyone under a common banner and an organization that seeks to keep the current civilizations independent and cooperative.

- A struggle for power within a massive organization between those that believe that the betterment of the organization is the right cause and those that believe helping the people of the desolate wasteland who are worse off is the right way.

- Struggling for survival in small shanty towns and makeshift communities, coming together for safety from slave traders, raiders, and other horrors of the new world.

- Pursuing their own self interests by trading their fellow man in a cruel new form of business.

- Taking what they need with a "survival of the fittest" attitude.

- Studying the ways of the old world in an attempt to harvest the old technologies that led up to the apocalypse in an effort to understand and harness the power of technology to help make the world a better, or safer, place.

So, yeah, seems like there is a LOT of different groups doing a LOT of different things in a post apocalyptic world, and not just a series of wacky encounters.

As for the original post, I'd have to say... Banjo-Kazooie (the most recent one just seems terrible), Jet Force Gemini (awesome N64 game!), Space Station Silicon Valley (look it up), and Ogre Battle series (haven't seen a new one in quite some time). More recently, Psi-Ops, The Mindgate Conspiracy, and the Zone of the Enders series. All great games that didn't get their respect, or if they did then their sequels have been either non-existent or brought the series down.

Grim Fandango. Fantastic story-telling, hilarious humor, memorable characters, alluring setting, and top-notch voice acting. And only about a hundred few people bought the game total.

Lair.

Cause then we'd still have Factor 5 to make awesome Rogue Squadron games.

LOTR: Conquest.

Cause then we'd still have Pandemic Studios to make awesome Battlefront games.

World in Conflict. That game rocked but had major flaws that held it back. I don't actually know how it did over all, but I know that it didn't do as well as it could or should have as far as I see.

Elemental: War of Magic. It had SO much potential, but it truly sucked when it was released, and still does, even after several patches.

Mario Kart Double Dash is the most underrated entry in the series, which is really sad becuase it's the best in the series.

And NCAA 2006(Football), the same scenario here. The gameplay is so fucking smooth.

The Witcher. Even though it did pretty good I found it so much better than the competition regarding story, writing and atmosphere that I believe it deserved a lot more praise. That, and maybe some publisher would get on translating the remaining novels :s

Any of those statements that you just made that are about the Enclave are not included. They were destroyed at the end of Fallout 2, they shouldn't of even been in F3, let alone in such large numbers and technology, plus how did they manage to travel that far?
You obviously don't know anything bout the Enclave, they don't want to unite, they mostly just want to destroy anyone who they don't like, which is almost everyone.
If your third statement is aimed at the Brotherhood of Steel, then it is wrong. The BoS never cared about other people, they never even recruited people outsde of them. They should never even be a "large" force. They're suppossed to be small.
Shanty towns? It's been more than 200 years since the bombs fell, people just arn't trying. Ashur in the Pitt is at least.
Cruel new form of business? Are you talking about bartering? Cause thats been around for a while. Plus the NCR and Caesars Legion have both created their own currency.
Your last staement also seems based on the BoS, however you seem to be talking about the Outcasts, who are technically not outcasts because they're doing what the BoS should've been doing.

The digital hardcore band Rabbit Junk. I'm sure there are a few others on this site that agree with me on this, they're fucking amazing and need more listeners.

In terms of gaming, DJ Hero. Most people take one look at it and think "Aw, that game has a bunch of hip hop and rap and it's for black people. No thanks."

But it's quite possibly my favorite music game of all time, surely the most demanding and unique in its gameplay. Just buy it already guys, and the sequel.
