"Porchmonkey" is a very archaic racial slur against black people, specifically during the slaves era when black laborers would literally be sitting at your porch while working or taking their breaks (if any).

Could very well also be a stab at the stereotype that black people have disproportionately large mouths.

Why can't we "Take it back"? I have never heard the term "Porch Monkey" unless it was related to Clerks 2. Offensive terms shouldn't stay offensive forever. If that hatred has worn off, then what's the problem? Why can't it just mean lazy?

Think about the word "Nerd". It's offensive when you get called one, and it's associated with certain qualities, but now people have turned it into a good thing in some situations. I see "I love nerds" shirts everywhere.

1. Many people don't know that it is meant to be a racial slur.
2. Many words we have today meant something completely different than they do now.
3. By eliminating the hatred behind it and just having porch monkey mean lazy, we are moving on and ridding the world from one more hateful thing. People of all races should have the right to call eachother porch monkeys. It's even fun to say.

This is probably just cause I havent seen Clerks 2 but I dont even know what a porchmonkey is.

However, I will say that to black people, nothing beats the N word (I feel weird typing it, minaly cause I have a lot of black friends, and my gf is black). If you wanna test it... wel, you have a suicidal wish, but just go ahead to a black neighborhood and shout both out in the middle of the street.
