That's not an unusual response. Now, if it gave you a massive erection and an almost uncontrolable impulse to do something with your legs then you'd have problems.
Now that you mention it....

...But seriously, it's mostly a lack of any measure up against it. My friends and family? Well, my family's tough, but they still ***** and moan and cry. My mom drove herself to the ER with a broken foot once. She may be tough as nails, but there was cursing and screaming (evidently). My uncle was a fisherman who only dealt with the pain in his gut when he passed out on the boat, but there was much cussing. Like a sailor, one might say.

...Yeah, my family has a lot of "hold my beer" moments. That's one of the reasons I know how they react.

Last year I smashed the big toe on my right foot, nail in bits, blood everywhere. My face went deep red, I got irritated with the concerned witnesses (who came close and flapped about it) and I stopped speaking, but otherwise I didn't react. I'll make no bones about it, the lack of expression was willful, all wrapped up in arguably petty concern for my masculine pride.

I know it's not fashionable to have that mindset anymore, but there you go. That's how I behave.

Captcha: I shit you not, the captcha was "toe the line".

I tend to say "Fuck", loudness scaling with severity, and get a little violent. From what I know the swearing is common enough. Hyperventilating I haven't heard of from anyone else, but that's not a massive sample size I'm referencing.

EDIT: The Captcha I got was one of those stupid ones where it asks a question then answers it itself and gets you to type it. "What animal in the kingdom has the deadliest venom" "Answer: box jellyfish". I typed "h" and it worked. So in future, don't put any effort into those, if you're reading this.

Yeah, I'm with a lot of the posters above, when I get seriously hurt, I laugh. I don't know why. It's just a physical reaction, probably akin to a moan or a scream. It's just what comes out of my mouth. One time I was in a public pool and got a charlie horse, and started laughing. The people around me had no idea what I was going on about as I was desperately trying to get to the side of the pool before I drowned, laughing the whole time. Not pleasant.

If I get hurt minorly, I curse. Unless the kids are around. Then I curse under my breath.

I tend to swear and grunt/moan haha. I don't think I've cried cos of pain since I was quite young, but I was recently hit off my bike by a car and the shock of that made me tear up and get quite shaky, but that wasn't due to the pain it was the shock of the whole experience.
