Is this at all acceptable?

So to make a long story short, I have dandruff. This dandruff bothers my grandfather (Who I live with). I don't want to use any shampoo for it since it, quite honestly, doesn't bother me in the least. So he's taken it upon himself to actually put some drops on my head to get rid of it. The problem? I'm asleep when he does it.

SO it's a pretty straightforward question. Is this acceptable?

EDIT: After about four pages of this I guess I'll step in. Most of you seem to be under the impression that I: A. Have severe dandruff. Bad enough to leave a visible mess on anything I come near, B.Have no concept of personal hygiene, and C. have never made any attempts to do anything about it.

To the ones that made any of the above assumptions I only have this to say: You're all idiots. I ask a simple question regarding my grandfather's behavior and somehow you manage to make unfounded assumptions about me and my habits. I don't care what you think about me. That's not what this thread is about. I just want to know what you think of the behavior on my grandfather's part. Is all.

No, its pretty weird, not too much a incredibly ...just wrong? Dont mess with another person's body if they don't want you do. It is one thing I think that every single human being and moral ideology can agree with.

That being said, the whole "I have dandruff, I don't care" is arguably weirder. Cleanliness is next to godliness man. Personal hygiene is a pretty good deal. Take care of the dead flakes of skin coming of you scalp, if not for you Grandad (which would be enough of a reason, just to be considerate), then at least for yourself (seriously. Personal hygiene).

That is beyond creepy. Either way you should just deal with it and use the shampoo. I used to be stubborn about my dandruff, claiming it never hurt anyone, but I can tell you I saw a huge change in the way people treated me after I started to use the dandruff shampoo. It may have been shallow for those people to judge me based on it, but I wont argue with results.

I guess this would be more relevant to me if I actually talked to people most of the time. The few people I actually do talk to are about as nice to everyone else so clearly the dandruff isn't really a factor.

That's pretty creepy of him, yeah, and if you're really determined to stay...dandruffy, I guess?...anyway, that's your call. But I think you'd do better to treat it, out of consideration for others if nothing else.

It also helps your image. If you were to have an interview for a job like that, it would hurt you. It would tell the interviewer that you are not mindful of your own social obligations, nor do you care for personal hygiene. There is not real reason not to, right? Its not like Head and Shoulders or Selsun Blue smell bad, or hurt your head when you use them. They are no more expensive than regular shampoo. Being a member of society is a social contract, we should all try to live up to that a little more. Being a bit more hygienic never hurt anyone.

That's pretty damn creepy. I'd be scared if my grandfather walked into my room while I'm sleeping. Anyway, I think you should use shampoo. Like @keideki said, it can hurt in job interviews and how people view you. Now I'm not a fan of conforming to what looks good and bad but we're not exactly asking you to completely change your lifestyle. Just to use different shampoo :)

What is it with family seeming to believe that the bodies of other family members are temples for desecrating?

This is absolutely absurd, if you ask me.

Though if you asked me, I would also say that it is absurd you allow dandruff.

seeing as i too don't care about cranial hygiene, tell him to pack it in, and find motivation to DIY.

Pretty much my stance.

Your grandfather is creepy for doing that - there's no argument there, but it seems pretty stupid that you don't just deal with something as simple as dandruff. Slap some head & shoulders or other shampoo and be done with it. Also, if you're using a very cheap shampoo and have a sensitive scalp, then that could be a factor. If you really don't want to use something, just get a better quality shampoo.

Take care o' yo scalp, boy. Dandruff is gross.

I'm gonna have to say that, seeing as how it's your grandfather and he probably tried to get you to use shampoo regularly before I'm gonna let it slide. Caressing your hair with sexy-ing cream whilst you sleep is far better treatment than many net from their family, so either stop complaining or start using shampoo when you shower like a normal person.

I don't get why you wouldn't want to get rid of dandruff?

As weird as it is, I kinda don't blame him either. I think it's weird you want to keep it on your head...

That's...creepy as all hell. I can kind of see why your grandfather wouldn't want you flaking up his home but it's wrong for him to put stuff in your head in the dead of night. Maybe you could reach a mutual understanding? I know myself that flakes aren't uncomfortable but they don't really stick around on your head...some people could get grossed out by the flakieness.

All right, everybody agrees that sneaking into your room to mess with your hair is creepy.

On the other hand, apparently every single poster would do it to you anyway, since wanting to have bad personal hygiene is creepy as well.

I would advise the shampoo but I would also advise locking your door at night. Your grandfather is creepy.

No that's extremely creepy and if people are still nice to you that's okay but what do you expect them to do? They're not exactly going to point at the dandruff and laugh.

Seriously, it will help a lot in life if you maintain a good image, physically and socially. This is a small thing which has some nasty ramifications that you just aren't aware of, at least until it's gone. Ditch the dandruff and people should be suddenly even nicer, certainly more willing to spend time with you and will generally think of you in a better way.

Superficial and silly? Perhaps, perhaps not but the way things are nonetheless.

Wait how does he do your hair without waking you up unless you're a heavy sleeper?
The solution, start using the shampoo yourself already! (Afraid of getting it in your eyes?) I mean what the worst can happen unless he continue to do it eventhough you use it already.
