It's not that the kid is good at anything or that there's an evil trick of sorts. It's true that the kid 'gets it right', but I would believe it to be 'magic'/'mentalist' basics at work here.
Forming the 'O' with his hands is one thing.
Slowing down his on point nodding is another.
'O is for Orange' is bound to work with kids that only just recently learned the alphabet, could also work with most adults. Adults tend to be more random though, they need other ways of manipulating them into being useful.
There's a number of tricks that could/would help if you wanted to do something like this, but why would you want to do that?
The intro guy made me giggle, though.
