I (use) to play all the time on PSN and would often play with a friend, who was also a girl. We were harrassed maybe like once, and that was by a kid (sounded like a kid) and we were the only one talking in the match.

Though, I did have someone scream harassment at me because I was killing them a-lot. All while mispronouncing my username, saying 'Luck UM' instead of 'LOOSE EM'.

Eeeyup. I am a female, with a female name on Steam, and it happens quite frequently on TF2. I don't mind it when it's people I know, or they say their bit and quickly drop it, but when it's just constant and over-the-top vulgar it is quite aggravating. Not all servers are like this, but it's a fair amount, and yes the vast majority of kids can't resist saying something.
