Yes, yes it is that bad. I borrowed it from a friend for the achievements and I want those hours back.

It's certainly not good. Is it as bad as the drama queen internet makes it out to be? No. But I can't really imagine that you will genuinely enjoy beyond laughing at it's inept execution.

I'm prepping for my public execution for saying this, but...

I quite liked it.
I don't think it's all that bad once you get used to the controls and I've beaten it at least a couple times.

My biggest complaint about it is that it's probably going to forever leave off on a cliffhanger.

I was a little scrunchie-faced at first, but after several hours I found a weapon I liked, the analogue stick-based combat clicked, and I soon found myself enjoying it. Played through twice with one character (the um... Biomech, or something?), started the other classes but didn't play them quite as much...

Personally found the combat pretty swanky, meself. Once you get the hang of it, it really isn't that bad. And besides, playing a hack-n-slash like this with more traditional controls would've left your thumbs blistered beyond all reason. :p

If you do get it, bear in mind ranged weapons are kinda meh. Every so often I'd switch to a big fat grenade launcher or something to mix it up, but preferred utilizing melee, as they all have a secondary attack you can use (by pushing both sticks in the same direction)- not always the most damaging moves, but each weapon type has an AoE that can help prevent you from being zerged.

I will agree that the death sequence was a bit annoying, but that just drove me to play better. /:3

I really enjoyed the game but I had the benefit of friends who played it so we could do co-op runs for fun and goof around. I liked the story I thought it had potential but I can understand where my fellow Escapists are coming from in regards to their complaints. I would buy it again if I could find it for 5 bucks, on the XBL marketplace they still want $30 for it lol.

I was a play tester on Too Human, and I learned to like it a lot (working at it 40 hours a week, you have to). Yeah, there are huge flaws in the game, and for the development hell it went through (seriously, 10 years or something like that?), it should have been a lot better. It's a game that lets you make it fun, so if you don't find the right play style, it won't be fun. I had the best luck with the berserker and the commando(?)(High melee, low range, and the class that was the opposite of that). There were some awesome skill combos like having one tree that would make your bullets ricochet. The awesome thing about that was the game handled it like a second bullet, so you could get your grenades to ricochet too.

The story is non-existent/boring/terrible, plus the game rewards grind more than anything else.

I played it co-op with a friend which made it bearable, but if you're going solo I'd really just not bother.

So if you have bags of free time you want to kill by doing pretty much the same grindy thing and not having access to a MMORPG then this is for you.
