Hey guys, I have a desktop that I can get upgraded to 384MB, I'm trying to play Fallen Earth, the minimum spec. is 256. Is this a good idea? Or should I get a new laptop to play video games on?

upgrade your current PC, less expensive. only buy a new computer when the cost of upgrading becomes too expensive or too much work. like if your motherboard is fucked, along with your graphics card and power supply, then i say buy a new one. however, NEVER get a laptop for gaming of any kind, only desktops.
i wish i had known that when i bought my laptop.

how much does a decent gaming desktop cost?
not like upper tier fps gaming just like WoW and some RTS gaming.

348 mb RAM? You might as well get a brand new computer.

You can get a decent gaming rig for pretty cheap, and adding in some RAM won't really help you as I'm guessing you can't run most games with whatever ancient processor and GFX card you have.

What are the rest of the components in your computer? Either way it does seem like you might want to get a newer one, even though you might see some increase in improving the ram. Don't forget to post if ya need some help building a pc.

That is the rule of gaming that you must abide by if you want an optimal gaming experience, this man is smart. Fluffybacon... what is wrong with your head?

Are you talking about GFX memory? I dont think you can actually upgrade your GFX memory
"correct me if im wrong", which means you will have to get a new one.
And that can be expensive in a laptop, since you cant just fit any GFX you want.

If its RAM your talking about, you should probably throw the junk out and get a new one altogether.

So i suggest that you just get a gaming rig for about 500$ and keep the laptop for other things, like work or school.
