Well... technically Sechs is an android without any real gender. But he's got a masculine body (well originally female, but after a lot of customization it looked very male, and then he just rebuilt his entire body to be male... it's complicated)

Well this one is me, so yes. My avatar differs from some places though, I have had girly-looking avatars before. Which actually led a lot of people thinking I was female. I guess my nick doesn't exactly sound manly.

Although I am trying to conserve posts to make more time for my 10k story, I must post in this thread...
Well, not really, but it is too tempting for me.
Yes, me and my avatar, which is a gif of Rena Ryuuguu, are both of the same gender.
I think you can see that she is a she.

anime people, do we really ever know if they are male or female?

i do not know if this snake is male or female, it goes back to an older nickname i used
and to people questioning the point to this topic, i am guessing the OP wanted to know the why to it all, why choose a diff gender to you "avatar", your "visual presentation of yourself", is it like the MMO argument that you have to look at a nice behind for a million hours? or something else? personally i have never used a female avatar or considered it

Avatars are not specifically representative of your gender, but more so of who you are and your interests. As many people before me have pointed out, their avatars may not even have a gender, they are just amusing and represent what someone likes.
