Intersting stuff, but its a shame that the casual gaming space hasn't attemtped any new sorts of gameplay styles. If they did that, they might just succeed in turning a lot of non-gamers into casual gamers.

I really like the phrase "scrappy developer". We need as many cool phrases to describe cutting edge devs as possible... cutting edge devs isn't bad, now that I look at it.

Take a look at Outpost Kaloki too - it's a simulation-style casual game. And very much fun, I've been playing their 360 Live Arcade version a lot recently (almost done with one of the story sequences)
