It does not feel like Christmas.

I'm barely celebrating Christmas this year. I have the tree, some presents, some relatives over, and that's it. Partly because it's been a crappy year overall, with the recession, not to mention that monster blackout last week. I'm also pissed off at the holiday itself, because of The Black Friday Stampede, as I call it. Who knows, maybe next year will be better.

What happened on black friday?
A massive crowd around Wal-Mart got sick of waiting, and five minutes (yes, only five minutes) before the store opened, the crowd broke through the glass doors and walls, and stampeded into the store, trampling one of the employees to death. Also, even after the store alerted the crowd, they refused to stop shopping. Trust me, it's as depressing as it sounds.

Welcome to adulthood.

Now do as the rest of the adults and hop yourself so much on benzos, painkillers or booze that you just don't care anymore.

Thankfully, no, it was in New York, but it was all over the news. There was a lot on the Escapist forums about it, too. Just Google "black friday walmart" and you'll see it.

Speaking of trampling people to death (don?t say that very often), did you hear about the twilight trample?

No, but I'll check. Let's try to get back on topic now.

You're right; asides from the Christmas decorations and buying frenzy, it just feels like normal, boring days.

I dunno about Christmas, but it sure feels like winter. It's not even January and there's close to three feet of snow on the ground. It's uncommon where I live for more than six inches to be on the ground at this time of year!
Exact opposite here. We haven't had a lick of snow all year and we should definitely have had at least some. And it's only 32 degrees at night.
Lucky! I'm just happy that my snowblower is working, otherwise, I probably would have gone totally nuts!
Yeah thats why I haven't left the house in 3 days.
lol
Do I need to airlift you some rations, perhaps a few hundred gallons of fresh water? j/k

How much snow do you have?

Hey, now you know how I feel every year for eight days!

It's like, what, the fourth night of Hanukah? We just set up an electronic menorah and turn on an extra bulb every day. Kindof depressing now that I think about it...

I'm more excited for the New Year for whatever reason.

Yea my family and I celebrated it tonight and it really didn't feel like a holiday everyone came, ate, opened their gifts and left. Plus it was almost 60 degrees here and raining, which is odd.
