Mine died... and then rose again 3 days later!
I'm not even kidding, strangely enough it has yet to break again since it fixed itself.

I don't have an XBOX 360 myself, but one of me friends had one.
When that one died a year ago, he first tried to fix it, fix it again, called Microsoft, called Microsoft again when nothing happend and eventually gave up. Then it got weird: he drew a cross on it and threw it on a fire. The next day he buried the remains in his garden.

"owkaay???"

Yeah, I found it creepy too.

Sorry to kind of derail from the original post, but how often do ps3's fail in comparison to xbox360s? Everyone I know (3 xboxes) have had their xbox360's fail, while my ps3 has been waiting for a decent game for the past couple years.
The PS3 failure rate is around 1%. I've had mine since launch and have been playing dozens of good games.

side note: The failure rate for 360's is down to around 16% now.

Disclaimer: This is all from memory, find your own sources.

NAANA, NANANA-HEY! NA-NA!

NAANA, NANANA-HEY! nana.

Someone said that PC gaming is more expensive? Well, we don't have to buy a new PC everytime a small part breaks apart.

MUWHAHAAHAHA.
Or you return it to Microsoft and have it replaced for free. That is of course, if it fails before the warranty is over. Otherwise you just get the elven ps3 and let it go.

(Nerd joke: It's Elven because it can't die of natural causes.)

That reminds me of the classic Skippy's List [http://skippyslist.com/list/].
"Crucifying mice: bad idea"

I had a good experience with the MS techs, I wasn't on the phone more than a minute before I got through, and most of that was menu navigation.

I got 2 RRoDs.

I also had a 3rd issue where my discs would not be spun.

Customer service was not prepared for that.

Shook my fist in the air and yelled "MICROSOFT!!!!"

After the 3rd time it happened I already had Xbox customer service in my contacts list.

I laugh at you in a disrespectful manner. My launch 360 still works!

And it had a lot of shit happen to it.

UHHHH! Whats with all the pointless threads lately!
Pointless?

Not pointless, just off-topic.

Which categorizes many things to the point where there is no such thing as pointless if it has a base discussion that people can converse about =p

The first time I saw the red rings? I apologized to my friend and said "I swear I didn't break it."

...I didn't - really! I just happened to be the one who turns it on at the wrong time. Wrong time wrong place.
