Not to sound like an officious prick but the book was a lot scarier than the movie, even as a child. I have a feeling that the remake will either be very very good or so bad that you'll wish it was a person so you could throw rocks at it and piss on it when it goes unconscious

I'll just say the book made me scared to use the bathroom at night, while the movie made me laugh.

Oh dear... It the book is one of the cleverest and well written pieces of work I've ever read, (especially what It really is, which you could never do with a movie adaptation). I remember having to watch part of the film for English back in high school and hating the way the whole tale was protrayed, especially the idea that It really was a spider (the ultimate insult to Stephen King).

I don't think a remake could do the book any justice, it is simply one of those tales that is best read and not watched, because it can never encapsulate the magic that Stephen King obtained with the book.
One of IT's incarnations was that of a spider in the book. I agree that IT is better read than watched but I would love to see a good adaptation for the screen. Did I mention GOOD. I could not watch the original because of how crappy I thought it was. No offense to those who liked it....well maybe a little....but I just couldn't deal.

I loved both the book and the TV Adaption

Im slightly concerned about the remake - sounds more like a homage to, since it is being set in modern day.

That movie scared the shit out of me when I was a kid. Nithing good can come from this. Next, you're gonna tell me they're remaking The Fly. If you need me, I'll be huddled in the fetal position under my bed.

Speaking of remakes, do you know they're remaking Total Recall?

I loved that movie, it had Arnie, Ironside and... well that was about it for me. But, good God, that was enough. And more! Total Recall is one of the best movies you can watch if you're sitting back with a meat-feast pizza and a few mates. Best action movie ever made.

But now they're remaking it? That just... didn't need to happen, y'know? Kinda pisses me off, really, because it's like telling everyone that was involved in it and everyone who watched it that they shouldn't have wasted their time.

Back on subject, I've never seen It, but I've heard that it was hilarious from one person and incredibly scary from another.
Seriously? Whod play the lead? I love any early Arnie film, the best pizza eating flick has got to be commando. Loads of piss funny lines and way too much testosterone.

I love at the end when Bennet is pointing a gun and Arnie whos hes got without a fire arm and has already been shot. Film should finish there but no. By calling him a pussy Arnie convinces him to throw the gun away and knife fight to the death. GENIUS

Some great Deagle action too.

IT is the scariest film ever for anyone who watched it as a child. Nothing else compares. doesnt matter about the pants ending, it scared you shitless

That in itself was a remake from The Fly (1958 film) and it's sequels Return of the Fly (1959) and Curse of the Fly (1965). They also ruined that already with a sequel The Fly II (1989) and The Fly, a 2008 opera by Howard Shore, based on the 1986 film...

Well, all I know is that because of The Fly, I have an irrational fear of both bugs and Jeff Goldblum.

No matter who plays the clown, they are not Tim Curry. Only Tim Curry has the right to portray Pennywise the dancing clown.

I don't think I could accept anyone other than Tim Curry as Pennywise. They need to leave IT alone, it's fine the way it is.

I've watched the whole like, 6 hours of the movie a bunch of times. lol. I read the book once. I kinda liked it. Not my favorite by far, but it wasn't awful either. It scared me a little when I was younger.

I don't know how I feel about a remake. I hope it turns out goo, but I'll just stay cautiously optimistic for now.

Do you have proof of this? Because i highly doubt that Stephen King or the great Timothy Curry for that matter would allow this travesty to happen.
