Have you ever made any bad choices that prompted you to say something to the effect of "It seemed like a good idea at the time.."?

Once my friend (I was about 9) bet me to ride my bike down the stairs, Never one to give up a bet I naturally did and subsuquently went to the emergency room.

Y'know those toggles you get on joggers? I was bored and on a street corner talking to friends. To cure my boredom I was tieing and untieing the toggles to a sign post.

Then I found out I couldn't undo the knot. Urgh.

Selling all of my childhood toys at a yardsale, then watching Toy Story 3 a week later.

Why? Just... why?

There was this girl that I was with off and on from the ages of 14-18. When I was 20 or 21 ish, we found each other again, she was living in Oklahoma and I was in Chicago now. I got home from my second job after finishing 2 consecutive 12 hour shifts between the two jobs, and figured I'd call her before going to bed at about 8 am. During this call she gave me an open invitation to come down and visit her, rather than confirming my arrival, I figured I'd surprise her with flowers delivered in person. Delirious with overwork, I drove back to both of my jobs, arranged an open ended vacation at both, and by noon I was on a train to Oklahoma. When I got there, I found she wasn't as single as she let on as I arrived to waking her and her supposed ex up from slumber. I hadn't arranged a hotel beforehand and when attempting to I found that there was this huge powwow going down and all the rooms were booked so I got to hang out with her and him for the better part of a day of no one speaking. We all knew the score, she wouldn't talk to either of us, he wouldn't talk to me or her, it was a triangle of awesome. So yeah, what I thought was going to be a grand romantic gesture wound up being a grand gesture of failure.

Ouch, man. That's gotta be awkward.

Having pretty much a whole bottle of Vodka
to myself as pre-drinks before even going out to town.

Worst night of my life.

Probably not a massive amount compared to what other people can drink, but it was certainly enough for me to fuck mine and everybody elses whole night up. On the bright side, I wasn't sick :D

Yeah, but on the upside she was hospitable in that she graciously offered us all plenty of beer to pass the time and pretend like none of that was happening. Sadly it was beer from Oklahoma, so it was beer from anywhere else with enough water added to make it about 3% alcohol content, but she had plenty to take care of that complication.

About 3 hours ago, I had a large rant at my housemates (including my significant other) that they had all forgotten that today is in fact, my twentieth birthday. Now everyone seems to be pissed off and I can't leave my room. Still, if the bastards are going to forget my birthday then I think I'm alright to be pissed off, but I bet large amounts of money that I'll be guilt tripped into things to make amends for harsh words.

Aren't you worried they had a "SURPRISE!" planned?

Not really. It's not the kind of thing they would do and I have no idea where they could be hiding things, because I did some serious detective-work to make sure I didn't look like a complete asshole. Besides, it was about 7 and we had been sitting around all day, so either it was very well hidden and poorly thought out or they just plain forgot.

Buying Rainbow Six Vegas on Steam, even though I had a retail copy.

It just sits there in my game library, mocking me.

I actually don't regret buying AP.

And I even bought it at full price just a month or so before they dropped the price.

Trying to catch a huge speaker that was falling of the stage, breaking most bones in my hands and wrists
