"You're only angry 'cause you wish you were in my position!
Now nod your head because you know that I'm right. Alright!"

That sums up 90% of the bitching about Infamous.

Honestly, while neither are very appealing, I do have a thing for lightning powers ever since the force unleashed.

As far as this "competition" between inFamous and Prototype and which is the better is concerned it should be dropped because there's always going to be stuff like that when similar like games come out GTA and Saints Row is a big example....and as far as people making their decision's based on OTHER people's reviews y'all might as well hand your brains over to them because all a review is is that particular person's opinion of said game. If that game interests you personally go out, buy the game, play it and make your own decision, dont like it then take it back to where you got it from. As for all this console bashing retardism again totally bullocks. I own a 360 and have played Prototype and i enjoy it, i do not own a Ps3 but i have found ways to play inFamous and i did not like it to well. Granted the fact it's an exclusive and that i dont have the monies to get a PS3 does take away a little bit of its jazzy sparkle but i wont give a "i hate this game becasue its a console exclusive" speech because of it. To sum it all up:

1. both Cole McGrath and Alex Mercer have an abnormal power
2. Both take place in an "open-world" sandbox.

Why am i getting this feeling i will be misquoted majorly on this.

first off, I agree with you in the most part/

Second, I MUST take exception to a certain point; I have won MANY pissing contests.

As someone who played both games, I can say i liked prototype better. My friend has a ps3, and we tried out inFamous at his house and he came over and played prototype. The whole good vs. evil thing didn't work too well and the fact that cole mcgrath ("hero" in inFamous) is sort of a one trick pony compared to alex mercer who has too many powers to count. I liked them both, but for what they are, prototype is a better option.

Well, I own prototype on PC, so, i'm clearly superior to you ALL!
/joke

One thing that bugs me though, is people saying prototype has bad or meh graphics...
SERIOUSLY!? I grew up with consoles like the NES and Genesis/megadrive, both prototype AND infamous have got amazing graphics.

Children these days... Spoilt creatures.

Yeah, I don't get this either. It's got amazing graphics! New York looks like, well, New York!

I got [Prototype] for the PS3. I played the inFamous demo and got bored to tears in it so completely avoided it. What kind of fanboy does that make me? :s

The comparisons are inevitable, given the similarities (sand box wiv super powers) and proximity of release. Both are a right barrel of laughs from what I've played (only an hour or so on each) so it seems pretty pointless trying to decided which is the bestest. Wont stop the fan boys, of course.

Okay somthing ive leaned about people is that they will allways be able to find somthing to fight over even if the fight makes no sense and telling them to stop makes em cry even louder.

I have inFamous, and LOVE it, by the way. I tried Prototype the other day when my friend brought his 360 over. The controls feel clumsy and the city doesn't look as good, and from our copy, the hit-detection sucks, and is occasionally unreal. (Even within the contexts of the game.) I didn't get into the story, I just went around sandboxing. But, and I'm not being a fanboy about this, I really think inFamous is better. I've heard it's more deeply-rooted into the story elements anyways, so did I have to get into Prototype's story mode?

2)Infamous has received better reviews. Mixed with above point and you get a lot of bitchy fanboys for the 360 who suddenly realise their idea that they have more/better exclusives no longer flies.
One exclusive doesn't change the fact that both systems have good exclusives. If you really think inFamous changes that, then your more fanboy than you know.
More the fact the 360 is loosing it's exclusives very quickly (Fallout DLC), leaving it with few exclusives of quality.
360 fanboys don't like how things look now, as the PS3 is coming out on top. Again backed up with the fact PC owners don't care about Infamous VS prototype.
You don't quite seem to understand the whole 'personal opinion' thing. Personally, i don't give a crap about any PS3 exclusives, i think they all look shit. IN MY OPINION.

Edit: Actually, the exclusives for all the consoles look fairly crap to me, i'm bothered at all by them. Except Crackdown.
Well it's a good thing you opinion is so unsubstantiated because it's then easy to discard it as ignorance.
How is it ignorance if none of the exclusives appeal to me?

I'm not sure why this is a topic of discussion.

Try em both out (unless you never buy console games like myself, so in this case infamous can get fucked) and play the one you like.
Anyone who hasn't tried Prototype is severely missing out on an incredibly fun game. I was pretty skeptical of it until I played it, but I've been having an absolute ball in that game. Definitely worth the purchase.

They both look unbelievably poor, in my opinion only. That brand of sandbox city game (a la GTA, Crackdown etc) always has me bored to tears in a matter of half an hour.
Same here, but Prototype is the first one I've actually enjoyed.

I'm sure I sound like a Prototype fanboy, but the fact that people will arbitrarily bad mouth a game and not even give it a play is pretty sad. I've got an old rule, if I haven't tried it, I'm not allowed to comment on it. Some of you need to do us a favor and adopt that rule too.

Looks of a game mean very little, if almost nothing. Personally I don't ever have an opinion on something until I've played. Such as I can say Project Gotham Racing, I find to be a useless sack of cr*p of a game.
Saying all exclusives for one console look shit is just very ignorant. Have to play the games to actually know if they are crap or not.
I never said that they are shit, just that they look it. Which has absolutely nothing to do with ignorance, just personal taste. If a game doesn't appeal to me, then i'm most likely not going to try it out. There are no exclusives that really appeal to me, i'd say it's perfectly reasonable to say that i don't like the look of a game without having played it until i have full knowledge of it.

Well looks mean nothing at all & say even less about a game unless you think graphics are everything. Even then, they don't look bad, and PS3 exclusives cover such a plethora of genres, it smells of fanboy troll talk saying they all look shit.
What would make more sense is to say "they don't seem appealing to me", not that "they all look shit", which obviously is an ignorant claim.
You didn't read the edit did you? None of the exclusives on any console appeal to me. And i don't mean look as in just the aesthetic appeal and graphics, but the whole game. Yes, i know you can't make an educated decision about it, but if i tried out every single game before forming an opinion about whether i want it or not then i would have no free time and very little money. Are you telling me that you can look at Barbie Horse Adventure and absolutely no opinion of the game at all? You'd still be perfectly willing to try it?

Ok, i admit saying they all looked shit was probably an unwise thing to do, but i've said they don't appeal multiple times now. And anyway, me saying they look shit is the same as me saying they don't appeal to me, albeit in a far cruder way.
