Good evening. I might be offered a job in Locri starting next month and I was wanting to know whether it was viable or not.

My rent is paid for, I only need to pay gas and electric bills.

I get paid 500 Euros for the first month, then 600 the 2nd, then 700, then 800, then 900, then 1000 each month after that.

Is that enough to live on?

That's digusting....

10 points if anyone knows where that is from.

1000 Euros in my little converter thingy says it's about $1220 AU which I don't think is very much at all to me but if you don't have to pay rent then you should be able to get by I guess. Maybe the living costs are a lot lower over there as well.

I'm not Italian though, sorry. :( I just wanted to use that quote.

That heavily depends on your gas- and electric bills.
I'd say you could live on it... however as for living comfortably, nope.

(In Sweden, minimum wage for a full-time employee is around ?1750 IIRC)

Also, that set-up with the wage starting out at 50% seems incredibly shady, but you probably know more about the specifics of your case than I do, so you're the judge of that.

Conclusion: not a lot, but assuming you can pay your bills and have a bit left, it should be alright.

Well it seems I won't be getting the job afterall, which renders this thread moot and can be locked.

Thanks to all who responded.
