Finally get rid of useless crap I don't need that I insist on keeping because I'm terrible, at one point in the ensuing year acquire cake and then consume is regardless of the circumstances under which it was obtained and proceed to eschew the consequences and responsibilities of any accompanying moral issues that came with gaining the cake, and maybe get a better job.

I will do one of those. Not 2, not 3, just one. Mostly out of inability.

I think the main plan is to keep advancing my career and develop my profession.

That and I plan to move in with my boyfriend this year. We've been doing long distance for a while so, regardless of which one of us ends up moving, I hope that works itself out this year. :3

It's not so much "resolutions" as much as it's "if I don't bulk up some muscle, lrn2music better and lrn2Russian, I don't get to do what I want in life."

I call them "desperations" rather than "resolutions".

Out out curiosity, what is your field of study?
Computer Science, with my main interests being on the theoretical side.

maybe learn coding.
I've never used it before, but Codeacademy [http://www.codecademy.com/] is apparently a really good resource for learning to program. Plus the languages they have courses on are easy enough to pick up and learn.

Even if your field of study seems largely unrelated, if you're doing a Science then I would highly recommend learning to code. A lot of Universities will either require you to learn programming or teach it, because it is so useful for running simulations and processing data.

I'm going to start drawing again, I decided.

I haven't properly in years, and I miss it. I always end up getting frustrated with it and how many people are so much better, but at the end of the day I always enjoyed doing it.

I'm thinking about doing night classes but I haven't decided yet. I'm still a bit poor on the money side of things.

I'm not sure I'd call it a resolution exactly but I'm feeling this year is finally time to get started on that novel I've been wanting to write for years. I no longer have studying taking up half my time since I graduated, my job has a fair amount of free time in which to work on it and over the last few months my ideas have come together into an actual workable frame. Once my current projects come to an end, it'll be crunch time, may never get a better chance. Can't wait!
If you need feedback, I'd be happy to help. I can't believe you get to work with chemicals as well, that's brilliant!

Build my house extension. Maybe learn to play the guitar badly. Thinking of having a falling out with the neighbour.

Well, I'm not one for resolutions at New Years time.
Neither am I, strictly speaking. The word "resolution" suggests something much more ambitious than I'm used to planning during the winter months.

I've recently begun the process of quitting smoking, which is damn hard. Currently I'm weaning myself off of them, using those vapor thingies. I know its not necessarily better, but getting away from the original habit is more my goal than quitting outright. I'm weighing the option of temporarily quitting like I have multiple times in the past or replacing the habit with something less damaging (as far as I've been able to research) than cigs. Its definitely not easy but the e-cigs are making the transition easier. Maybe they will ultimately be easier to quit, that is at least what I'm shooting for. If not, well I'm hoping its less bad than the original habit and thats a plus.
Good for you. I hope this causes you to be a more measured and moderate person, instead of violent and cussy. XD

I've got some big plans for next year. I'm moving out of my small 300-population village and into a nearby city. There I'll be attending university and hopefully also getting some work on the side (most likely at a bar, or some such). I'm obviously going to be working on building a social life for myself throughout this. Over the past few years my social anxiety has kept me rather imprisoned at home, but over 2014 I've been winning that battle and now feel confident enough to do this. So things are happening.

So, new year's "resolutions" I guess,

- Move to city
- Go to uni and get a job
- Build a social life/establish relationships
- Get laid.

Yup.
Nice one. Nothing's worse than feeling imprisoned like that. That sort of thing can really be exacerbated in small towns, like where I live, unless you change your outlook and priorities fairly dramatically. Good luck with whatever you decide to do - short of the really sketchy and illegal stuff!

Well, I'd like to apply for a course relevant to my interests before any other SOBs can.

If that doesn't happen...I want to make some progress somewhere. Maybe get over a few problems I've been having...in general, and recently. Sometimes I wonder if I'm surrounding myself with bad company, or if that's just the way people are and that I should just toughen up and stick with it. Sometimes I really want to try cutting myself off from everyone for a couple weeks just to see how it feels.
I wouldn't recommend it, man. That usually makes things worse.

Also, I was supposed to call the doctor's back about counselling if they didn't send me a letter or something...and they didn't. I wonder if it's too late.
No, never.

Some work experience might be nice, too. Volunteering to work with animals might be cool. Might lead to something with pay. Maybe I'm romanticising it, but working with animals sounds rewarding for a person like me.

Aaaand get back into teaching myself animation. And once I get my drawing tablet, maybe get into my old hobby.
Ever hear about Smoky, the world's first therapy dog? Animals are trained to help humans with therapy for a reason, you know. :) If you love 'em, I think you should give it a shot!

As for practicing your art skills, that one's always a winner.

I want to continue writing reviews, though at a more organised pace.
I also want to continue working out, though more regularly.
I want to continue improving in French. I want to revise enough so that I pass all my exams in May with 3 As.
I want the University of Edinburgh to hurry up with their offer distribution, and if I get one, I hope to make the transition to Scotland fairly easily in October.
I want to get a Security License and work with my parents so that I can save up a bit before University.
I want to learn Python by summer and move on to another programming language so that I can begin programming rudimentary games by 2016. I want to read more classic books, specifically so, I want to finish A Song of Ice and Fire before the next season comes along(I already finished AGoT).
I want to get a good gaming laptop when I go to Uni so that I have internet access & games whenever I need/want either respectively.
I want to get a good roommate and in general, I want to improve my social life.
I want to seriously begin writing a book, not a story over the course of these next few years.
I want The Witcher 3 to turn out good, and I want to be able to have the time to actually play it on release.
I want to become more courageous.
I want to find a girlfriend.
I want to become truly independent.

That about covers it from what I want and what I'd like to improve. I don't do New Years Resolutions though, probably cause I wouldn't keep to them >_<

I don't usually do new year's resolutions, but this year I have one since I already (finally!) started working out on a regular basis - run a half marathon. Since I started running from nothing three months ago I've hit the 10 km mark, but my knees are being.. uhm.. uncooperative. I hope a visit to the doctor will help me get back on track and towards my 21 km goal. :3

Oh and I want abs. Not like a six pack or anything like that, but just slightly visible abs. I've always been kinda flappy around the belly area and actually got to the point of accepting that I'd never get a flat stomach, but since I started losing weight this year I've seen a clear change. I'm sure I can do it, somehow, with all the running and stuff. :p

I've never really done a New Years resolution but what kind of person would I be if I didn't have goals.
To be honest one of the small ones was to try posting around here so that's one achievement but the real goals are to get my act together and revise more since marks have been dropping. The other big goal was to get my musical abilities back to what they were, both piano and guitar so overall not high goals but good enough for me.

Go with an ASUS laptop if you can; their customer support and reliability are way up there on the list. Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing The Witcher 3 hopefully release some time this millennium. >.>

Your reviews are pretty good, by the way. The layout's attractive and I like the tangent/thematic discussion segment. I also appreciate the attention you give to the game's audio.

I hope you're not planning on running on roads; those'll ruin your legs! Almost any kind of track's better. The shock of just walking up a hill road in walking boots left me exhausted and almost unable to move once. Then again, I am a little bit of a fat fuck, as the expression goes.

I played the piano for a few years and dearly wish I'd taken my musical lessons more seriously. It's a deeply rewarding discipline and a sublime instrument to practice it on. I wish you the best of luck.

I'm going to have to put a lot more effort into my don't-eat-all-the-ice-cream-in-the-house plan this year...

Barbas-Senpai approves.

Words cannot express this joy ;_;

I'm looking towards Scan.co.uk for the laptops...you can configure them without a ridiculous price tag being lumped on top, and they seem great value-for-money.
