in all seriousnes though: i spent christmas in germany, here the major celebration goes down on the 24th, so it's pretty much over already^^

Because in my little fragment of the family, christmas day is a cosy but modest affair that's quickly over. We do our real celebrating of Jesus' birthday on the eve of the 24th.
In any case, I've always been more of a fan of New Year's Eve. Xmas is alright, if a bit boring. But in my social circle, New Year's Eve is an occasion to get really really drunk and not come home till it's full light already (and in winter over here that's saying something).
I did have copious amounts of great wine however (can't remember which, something south african) so I apologize for lapses in my usually tight grasp of ze English.
I do wish everyone here o the escapist a very merry christmas, however you like to celebrate it. Have a drink, eat well, and be nice to each other. That's all Xmas needs.

Becasue despite getting a new anime film (Ponyo, by Hayao Miyazaki, in case you were wondering, and I own Princess Mononoke), my family doesn't want to watch any movies that I want to watch with me. And that makes me sad.
Because my family is several hundred miles away, I don't drink (therefore no reason to go out to bars) and I just finshed cleaning and scrubbing the bathroom and now I'm waiting for the hot water to come back so's I can take a shower.

My dad gave me money for christmas (unimaginative git) so I bought super meat boy and hence have not really been around the family all day, so I feel a little internet time is needed. The internet is family right?
