Today, I celebrate my 32nd year on this planet. As I start off the morning, I have my usual pot of coffee (or tea, as the case may be sometimes) and I have a box of Rainbow Nerds. Unusual combination, I'm sure, but that's what I'm in the mood for. I also normally kick on some tunes on my old mp3 player, but today the internet provides me with the celebratory music in the form of:

Tomorrow will be a party with pizza and a chicken BBQ. Granted, it's only going to be around 40 degrees (that's in farenheit for all of my non-'murican brothers and sisters) but hey, it's BBQ chicken and you really can't argue with awesome food! In addition, I took yesterday and Sunday off of work so I have a 4 day weekend to help the celebration last as long as humanly possible. After the food is done, my brother, my uncle and a few friends are going to indulge to a gaming session that's sure to include some Magic: the Gathering, Pokemon and multiplayer Trials: Evolution to enjoy all of the spectacular crashes and close races.

I'm also getting a rather large bladed weapon for my birthday, as I am a collector of swords, but I'm not sure as to the specifics of the weapon in this instance. All I know is that it's VERY capable of being a nice zombie deterrent.

For discussion's sake, how do you celebrate your birthday?

Happy birthday, man! Have a good'un. That song is just... perfect.

And now you've made me want some BBQ chicken... and I don't have enough money to buy any :'[

I celebrated my last birthday (21st) by... going to the pub. Yeah, it wasn't very exciting. I got given over a grand, though, so that was nice. And I managed to nab myself this beauty. [http://www.spectrasonics.net/products/omnisphere.php]

God, I love Omnisphere.

Very nice grab. The chicken cost $57 for 2 dozen halves and the stuff to make the marinade for the chicken was $40. But the taste of BBQ chicken for your birthday?

Fuckin' priceless.

I like pretending it isn't my birthday, and that I'm not getting older.

Of course, I should do this every day, but birthdays and Christmasses really drive it home.

Happy birthday!

I usually get drunk with my friends. Not the most sophisticated way of celebrating but I usually have a pretty awesome time.

Happy birthday!

Mostly I just use it as an excuse to see all my best friends at once in the same place. Means people have to meet each other. Usually a tad awkward but oh so satisfying when they get along.

Organising big things is a pain in the arse so I usually just tell everyone to turn up at a restaurant or a bar for food and drinks.

Oh...I was mislead by the thread title - I thought you wanted to know how we celebrate your birthday, not ours. I'd still want to answer that - I'll admit, I don't normally celebrate your birthday, but just today I bought a chocolate cookie and ate it (I finished it just a couple of minutes ago), so I declare that my celebration of the event. It's modest but it's the thought that mattered.

Happy birthday!

My (twin) sister and I and our best friend turn 30 this year, as well as a bunch of other people we've known since high school. We're still not decided on what we're going to do. Vegas has been thrown around, but it's kinda pricey. My friend knows a party planner, though, so we may see what she can come up with.

Our birthday is in July, so Vegas wouldn't be until later as we're Canadian and Vegas in the summer would cause us to shrivel up and melt the second we stepped off the plane.

So, basically, I have no idea what I'm doing this year to celebrate/mourn (I'm a girl turning 30, it's balls). We'll see what we come up with - we can maybe discuss it this weekend, especially if it's going to be a party for a bunch of people.

Well usually just force a few of my mates to show up at my place for drinks and fun.

Unoriginal i know, but it's fun.

And a happy birthday to you sir.

I don't really. My birthday is pretty much like every other day, except people sometimes give me money or cards.

Yeah thats pretty much how it goes for me. Though I never liked people giving me presents or money. Not a very materialistic person

Happy birthday! It is mine as well and I have taken the day off of work. I'm going to brew some beer, maybe play videogames, go for a walk and then dress up in a bunny suit and go get a beer. And burritos.

Happy Birthday, as for me I just treat it like any other day.
Likewise, although most of the time I just outright forget that it's my birthday. I remember what day it's on, I just never know what day it currently is. And since I don't make a point of noting what day it's on it usually almost completely passes me by until someone wishes me a happy birthday.

If that doesn't answer the OP's question, I typically don't

Thank you, sir, for that kind gesture!

And thanks to all who have said "happy birthday"! I wish you all much love and, if you happen to play Skinner Box-type games, may the loot gods grace you with phat lewts.

My parents usually come into town the following weekend and we have a nice family dinner.
And then I get hammered with my friends with the gift money.

Happy birthday.

I usually just go for sushi with my family. I don't ask for anything, so my present is usually tickets to Heavy Mtl [http://heavymtl.com/en/]. I'm more than content with that.

Happy birthday! My last birthday was my 21st, so I went to a bar with a friend and got hard cider and cake. And then I went to see Warm Bodies, which I thought was a pretty cute movie. Usually I don't do much of anything for my birthday though, like maybe I'll buy myself a muffin or something. I'm hardcore like that.
